lmao
Hoenn doesn't want you to have answers to the plethora of Water types in the region. This is why the best Water-counter is fuckin Thunderbolt Gardevoir
>>58239079Curiously enough, this doesn't get as much flack as Gen 4's lack of new Fire types
>>58239113it probably would if rs limited you to these 3 ugly shitters, but you can catch other electric types
>>58239079So? You also get access to>Magneton>Electrode>Raichu>Lanturn
>>58239113Fire is a Starter type that's the only reason people want options so they don't feel funnel-pressured into picking the Fire starter when Water (an overabundant type) and Grass (an also anemic type) have options. Also Hoenn solved this by actually having past gen options. You can use Magneton, Electrode and Raichu whenever you want. It's boring, but better than JUST Rapidash, a very mediocre mon that has no real redeeming qualifies of its type, especially the generation pre-Drill Run that gave it some much needed coverage. Fire also still has it bad in Hoenn, you know, the tropical region with a volcano area full of crap like Grimer and Koffing
>>58239079Not even Wattson wanted to use them
>>58239121>qualifiesThat's what I get for posting when I just woke up
>>58239113because Hoenn also gave you Magnemite, Voltorb, and Pikachu.
>>58239121>Fire also still has it bad in HoennWhat was it, Slugma Numel Torkoal Vulpix? The latter three aren’t terrible
>>58239113You can also find magnemite, voltorb, pikachu, chinchouIn Emerald you can find Mareep too, but honestly why even bother when Magnechad is available
>>58239124Dumb as shit they reused this for ORASS
>>58239132I'd take the double Water weakness for Camerupt since it's not like Torkoal is really a strong enough tank to finish off its targets. It feels like it was designed to be Flannery's Ace and not an actually usable mon, most of the game's aces feel that way with how out of the way and hard to find they are. Ninetales is perfectly fine, but the fact it's the best option and it's an old Gen from the first game really shows how mediocre the selection is. If Swampert wasn't cracked, it would actually have to fight Hoenn's plethora of obnoxiously competent and strong Water types
>>58239159I’ve actually used Torkoal in a run. Somehow it pulls its weight really well, I never found myself thinking it was falling behind.
>>58239159>it's not like Torkoal is really a strong enough tank to finish off its targetsyou're just bad at the game lmao torkoal isn't great but it's not fucking ledian or something
