Isn’t that kind of the point? One of the reasons I wanted Raichu to have a mega evolution was because I wanted Pikachu to have a super mode. If Pikachu had a mega evolution instead of Raichu, he would’ve been holding back. Besides, you DO realize that some mega reference their previous forms, right?

If you’re worried that Ash’s Pikachu is going to evolve if he returns, 1) grow up, and 2) maybe they’ll have the cake and need to wear the 0”mega dimensions
will be a dimension where Pokémon don’t have to fully evolve before going mega.
