The entire point of the way Home is setup now is that a Pokemon, at its base, is basically just an id number and some basic information on its trainer and caught date. Everything else is store in individual, separate parts in Home, so if you send a Pokemon to a game from Home, it just stores all of the data that wouldn't be in that game until you send the Pokemon back to Home. That's what the Home tracker ID is. They could change everything about a Pokemon as long as they keep the Home tracker ID and, in theory, you should be able to trade it back and forth between any two games, the way PLA <-> SwSh <-> SV work now.
