Soot Edition>I want to learn the game, where do I begin?Download PTCGL at https://tcg.pokemon.com/en-us/tcglThe game has a quick tutorial and a bunch of decent decks to get you started against other beginners or against the AI. Some of those decks are very close to meta too. You can also go to your local game store and see if people are playing Pokémon.>I know how to play, how do I make my own deck? You have a decent beginner's guide at https://www.justinbasil.com/guideThere's also the old /tcg/ guide at https://imgur.com/a/W4NkOu6After that, look up meta decks and try to reverse engineer them to see how things work.>Where to find meta decks? For big irl events, go to https://limitlesstcg.com/decksFor online events, go to https://play.limitlesstcg.com/decks?game=PTCGFor japanese events, go to https://pokecabook.com/archives/1417Previous thread: >>58184161Old /tcg/ pastebin: https://pastebin.com/Ge95YuMA
Still no card art OP...
>>58244075Cry more.
Counter catch can eat shit when it rotates next year. It just enforces people playing chicken because you're punished so unbelievably for taking the first knock out
Bwos...?
>>58244639Yes?
This card is growing on me. I think if your deck struggles with Budew, this might be worth a slot.
>>58245511I saw some people playing it in zard but I don't know if that helps the pult match up at all
wish the fat fuck went outside before dyingneed that motherfucking early prerelease infofat fucking piece of shit
10th for a spiky!>>58245600geez man chill out, why don't you fill in his shoes instead?
>>58245920>Not fat>I touch grass>I don't own 50 catsNah, I'm not a basement dweller like that fay fuck was
>>58245938ok then stop complaining we have no prerelease lists
>>58246011>complainingOh no, someone's mad I'm on topicanyway, back to jerking off pichutry not to let the thread die again
>>58246049The last thread hit bump limit you whiny retard.
Lusamine Boss when
>stick
>>58246976You mean Guzma boss
I just wanna build cool 2010 decks but gardevoir is such a fucking spoil sport
I will preface by saying that I don't really know shit about the TCG and therefore may be wrong in my initial premise, but it seems like in this game an "archetype" is like 15 cards and the other 45 cards in your deck are pretty much the same as every other meta deck. Has that always been the case, or have there been metas where top decks are actually meaningfully different from each other?
>>58251928There are universal truths to the game; having playable cards in your hand is always good, hence why every deck runs Prof. researchI'd say a quarter of the deck is meta cards like that, a ball of some kind and Fez, most decks do run specific trainers, tera decks using tera orb, grass decks running bug catcher's kit, etc.Of course 10 or so cards are just energy too
We smokin that torb pack tonight, boys
>>58252716whiffed the win by a single card
Deserved loss. Gardiechads stay winning.
no munki but 4 candies in pult is cool but I think the frankfurt match shows you need some sort of tool hate in the deck. either tower or scrapper. charm is just always a huge problem for board wiping. there were turns tord could have wiped out multiple mons but charm completely denies that.
only rotation can save us
>>58252716Turd could've been champion. But he was a coward who lost faith Gardy after 2023. Now he'll never win again and will become just a fat joke playing in Chinese tournaments
>>58251928Every card game has staples.
>>58251928>energies>draw support>cards to search directly for what you need (there's a term fro this from magic or yugioh I believe but I forgor)>type/mechanic specific trainers>support 'mons (extra damage, apply weakness, prevent abilities, etc)>attack 'monsthis is basically what every decks has
>>58251928the top two worlds lists share like 21 cards, so this isn't really the case
>>58251928>and the other 45 cards in your deck are pretty much the same as every other meta deckConsistency matters if you want a deck to be good. Most decks are built the same because that's what works. If you need more "originality" in your deck, play GLC.
>>58253805People love complaining about meta decks being the way they are, but can never seem to grasp why consistency matters.
>>58254110Because consistency is a dirty word to shitters. When decks are consistent, games come down to what you're playing and how well you're playing it, which means losses are a reflection of skill or a lack thereof.
I love playing the same exact game over and over and over.
>>58254556Don’t play then.
>trained like a dog by repeating the same game over and over for months and that makes you skilledLMAO. We cant have too much variance in a card game else anon cannot keep up and wont be skilled anymore.
>varianceIn other words, you want le xD randumb to decide games. Play Hearthstone.
>>58254556Play a new game then, retard
Play rogue deck
The meta is just going to become mega charizard x vs mega charizard x soonNo other decks will get to be playedNo other megas will get to be playedOnly charizard is capable of one shotting another charizard. It's modern day mewtwo wars
>>58255498As an Arch player I'm worried, it actually fares well against Typhlosian though
>>58254556As a returning player this is a massive trvth nvkeYou see it in many games, especially fucking card games
>>58255498I think pult noir still wins the prize race against mega zard even if they play the psyduck.
Thoughts about your queen Gardevoir?
>390 HP mega charizardfun
>>58257298still dies to my walking wake
>>58257237Motherphucking kneel.
>>58250228I wish we could go back to deltas and the og ex era
Does anyone else fucking hate Ghouldengo
>>58257904I dislike it because it's a deck that best represents all people's misgivings of what playing PTCG is actually like. Zero thought goes into any of the plays; draw 4+ cards a turn and swing into the active. Hand control doesn't exist, just draw more cards.
>>58257980I've been out of the meta awhile. What deck does good into it? Last deck I played was Flareon x Sylveon
>>58257992Typhlosion and Flareon because they hit for weakness; and Charizard because it can hit for weakness and Burning Darkness eventually scales into oneshot numbers for free while they need 7 energy to oneshot you. Charizard can also search for Iono every turn with Pidgeot to try and screw them out of finding Superior.
>>58258091Any decks from destined rivals doing well? Rockets pokemon?
>Any decks from destined rivals doing well?lol>Rockets pokemon?lmao
>>58258101Grimmsnarl is probably a tier 2 deck, Ho-oh Armarouge box is a fringe deck, Cynthias Garchomp might have some potential next set with the upcoming fighting support.
>>58258149Garchomp's issue isn't that it doesn't hit for big enough numbers; it's that it has no real secondary draw engine. You get all your Cynthia's cards out of the deck with Gabites, and then what? You're stuck either drawing 1 a turn or committing your Garchomp's attack for a meager 100 damage (let's be generous and say you have two Roserade on board, so 160) to refill your hand.
>>58258104Hey you can't blame me for asking
>>58258149What about the weezing meme deck
reprint it
>>58258997or you know just change the rules..would also fix the timer issue that forces ties
>>58259447>change the rulesDon't like the rules?Play a new game, dummy!
>>58259546I'm so sick of seeing you post.
