i think natures, EVs, and IVs are pretty damn cool for normal single player. lets each individual pokemon of a species be a little unique, gives them things to excel in naturally as well as a sort of sense of training specific skills. once the player starts acknowledging and caring about it though, then its a little annoying
>>
>feed pokemon mint
>get nature you want
How does this ruin the game again?

Not this shit again.
Get better material.

Better than IVs/DVs, almost as if it should've replaced them.
>>
>>58248134
I fucking hate natures. Doing 10% less during main games sucks dick and for competitive it just adds more variance

Ranking:
>EVs
You have COMPLETE control over these. Nothing to complain about
>Natures
Mints weren't really necessary, but convenient. I liked that Destiny Knot was updated to pass Natures down that was fine enough
>ID
Relatively innocent but was worst implemented in Gen III making Wurmple more of a shitmon by making it impossible to breed for an optimal one. But fortunately doesn't really affect major aspects for the most part (wow Spinda and Unown look different)
>Power gap
>Serious power gap
>Why the fuck was this implemented holy shit
>IVs
Turned Pokemon into a Eugenics Sim
>>
>>58248360
Whoops got it mixed up meant Everstone, not Destiny Knot. Destiny Knot was trying to patch the IV issue and it STILL didn't fix it
>>
>>58248360
>You have COMPLETE control over these
Not with the universal exp share
>>
>>58248378
The Friendship Berries still exist, Anon. You can decrease your EVs any time you want, but I'll admit I don't play the modern games to know if they have an EV reset feature like XY. Even then actually RAISING a mon from zero to what you need it to be is incredibly easy compared to any of the other stats

Meanwhile IVs needed a feature that sets all your stats to max, almost like the damn mechanic shouldn't exist
>>
>>58248360
This is true from the competitive aspect but for main game playthrough natures suck dick.
>>
>>58248134
next you'll say ivs suck, too

hint: they don't, their implementation just sucks
>>
>>58248378
>exp share forces you to put a pokemon you don't want to gain EVs into your party
Wut?
Just fucking box it until you're ready to train it.
>>
>>58248328
He needs something now that he can't say the split ruined pokemon anymore.

>i think natures, EVs, and IVs are pretty damn cool for normal single playe
I've been playing since Yellow and I never took any notice of natures, but I would if there was an aesthetic difference ie poses/scars etc.
>>
>>58248378
>exp share
By time we got that, the ability to manipulate EVs was already easy. Hell in 6th gen you could have fully EV trained teams by the 3rd gym.
>>
>>58248360
>You have COMPLETE control over these.
but you have to look at a guide to understand it, which makes it shit
>>

If you think Pokemon isn't a franchise that requires consulting a Pokemon encyclopedia boy do I have news for you.
>>
>>58249557
that's a bad thing. you shouldn't have to look at an encyclopedia, the game should communicate to the player how its mechanics function.
>>
>>58249582
>you shouldn't have to look at an encyclopedia
What do you think a Pokedex is?
>>
>>58249585
something that doesn't have any information about EVs
>>
>>58249100
that’s what i mean. just, not every level 50 blastoise will be identical stat wise, some will be a bit faster, a bit stronger, a bit bulkier, because of a combination of training and “genetics”. with competitive play though, it’s kinda lame because there’s 1 optimal IV spread for most pokemon and a couple optimal ones for like, special attackers and trick room pokemon, and even EV spreads and natures really only have a few even slightly viable possibilities
>>
>>58249607
Because the Pokedexes in the games are in-development. Bulbapedia, Serebii, and PokemonDB are all modern, proper Pokedexes. This is a franchise that has always embraced community interaction, documentation, and discovery. That won't ever change, so if I were you I'd get over it.
>>
>>58249100
I have
>Wow this starter is cool
>It's a firetype special attacker
>Holy shit his sp atk is low
>Adamant
>Plug stats into iv calc
>2
IVs AND natures suck. Bad natures really fucking blow early on because pokemon floors all calculations so if your stat is 11 before nature you drop to 9 because 11*.9=9.9 floored is 9.
