They could also sell the Mega Stones separately (perhaps in little bundle packs similar to the Z-Rings they released). I'd love it if the stones had connectivity with the ring, perhaps playing the cry of the Pokémon in question OR, transforming figurines. Basically a figure of the Pokémon standing on a base that has a tiny slot in it for the Mega Stone, put the stone in, press down on the key stone and the figure transforms.

I'd imagine most would have to go the manual route due to the number of parts that'd need to move or change completely, there's not a ton of space to tuck things like mega dragonite's head wings, but simpler ones like aerodactyl growing spikes could be spring loaded. You don't really see a lot of toys with organic shapes turning into other organic things, it's a difficult mechanical problem to solve without becoming prohibitively expensive to produce. Mostly you get stuff designed from the ground up to do that like transformers where all the car parts still have a place in the humanoid form and the human parts tuck into or fold up to become the car parts, or bakugan where the whole thing folds/unfolds into/from a geometric shape where they have a big contiguous interior area to fit all the pieces together in.

Fellas please keep in mind that Mega Stone colors do not always match the actual Pokemon's colors 1:1Sablenite has a bunch of yellow in it, desite Sableye nor its Mega having a bunch of yellow.And some Pokemon change colors dramatically, like you wouldn't expect Charizardite X to be for Charizard.

Drew this Mega Hydreigon. Mainly out of the sheer desire I have for this thing getting a mega.Its heads pop off from the excitement of mega evolution, and the leftover veins grow into hand-like tendrils which control where the heads can attack. Their previously vestigial brains regained power upon mega evolving, and run rampant unless guided by their main body.
