>VGC no longer using the mainline games
>a separate thing, Champions, developed to cover that
>next game, Z-A, removing turns entirely
>pokemon that experience this new battle system being unable to go back to previous games even with HOME
I hope you enjoyed battling in SV because you will never play a new mainline game with turns ever again.
>>

>you will never play a new mainline game with turns ever again
good
fuck turnbasedtards
>>
>>58251887
Honestly they should have done this 10 years ago. Shows how outdated this franchise is
>>
>>58251887
I don't think that they're gone forever but we'll probably never see a game in a brand new region with turnbased battles again.
>>
>>58251903
There was nothing wrong with it other than Shitfreak making singles the default since they think kids are retarded. Doubles or Triples was more enjoyable than Singles.
>>
>actually thinking they're going to drop the classic battle system that's been a staple for 30 years
Both the Legends series and Champions have their own purpose, it's ridiculous to jump to the conclusion that they indicate a major change for the whole series.
>>
*skips nu-gen and plays emerald again*
oh look normal battles

Yeah Legends' purpose is to prepare fans for experimental stuff they want for the main series as confirmed by the teraleak, and Champions' is to keep VGC alive.
Stop being in denial.
>>
>>58251887
Champions exists because Gen 10 has a longer development time, meaning they have nothing for the next VGC season, and they recognize people are interested in games that not only have multiple generational gimmicks, but also doing battles and only battles on mobile thanks to Showdown.

Any takes that they'll ditch turn-based in the next gen are delusional.
>>
>>58252024
Yeah gen 10 having longer development time means they can't use SV for VGC because...
>>
Are you the tranny that has spent years talking about DQ12 will throw turn based combat?
You act like him
>>
>>58252032
Because they can milk more money out of retards by shitting out a showdown clone with microtransactions. It would be stupid not to do it.
>>
>>58252009
Nothing there says Legends gameplay mechanics are intended to transfer to the main games, "technical foundation" simply means the technical side of the games, which back then referred to PLA/SV moving the series into open world.
>>
>>58252040
>they just mean the technical side like... like having an open world!
Or like removing turns. Stop being in denial, last warning.
>>
>>58252038
>they just want to make money with an official showdown
Which has nothing to do gen 10 development time, or the way they are removing turns in next month's game, or how pokemon can no longer go back to old games after being in the new system
>>
>>58252055
The combat style is a creative decision, not something referred to when talking about the technical side of development.

>SV didn't have anything from LA's gameplay
>s-surely gen 10 will be exactly like ZA!
I am in denial of your stupid fanfiction, yes
>>
>>58252151
>I am in denial of your stupid fanfiction, yes
Is not the pokemonfandom; is the squaresoft troons squad
They go to every franchise , they infect then, then yell they will remove turn based and shit and finally leave.
Falcom fandom got so bad after they discover trails with cold steel , same with Persona and other cases
>>
>>58252151
>redditspacing
>his argument is still "they meant they would add stuff from Legends but this one doesn't count"
kek
>>
>>58251887
Champion and the Legends games are part of the main series.
>>
>>58251887
>VGC no longer using the mainline games
Based. Post-OR/AS PWC are soulless, time for a change
>>
>>58252032
Because SV has now gone through every ruleset iteration, is pretty thoroughly explored, and people are bored and moved on to other games.
>>
>>58251887
Fine by me. I don't see the issue.
>>
>>58252577
That's not reddit spacing retard, and no there is nothing that says they will add anything from Legends in the first place. The point is the technical groundwork for open world games they talked about is proven to be in SV, yet there is still no evidence of any plans to transfer actual gameplay.
>>
>>58251936
>since they think kids are retarded
They are and having a game that's hard enough for these kids that they have to use their braincells is a good thing. It also teaches them that they don't just get everything by default.
>>
>>58252687
I'd like to disagree but honestly, having seen some of the things PokeZoomers say on Twitter, Reddit and Youtube comment sections, I think that we don't give enough credit to just how retarded Pokemon fans generally are.
I think being on 4chan, surrounded by people of a similar level of 'tism to oneself causes anons to be blinded to just how bleak things have gotten externally.
Unless you're speaking with a showdownfag or something who gets to the top of vgc ladders, chances are that person is barely managing to finish these games at the best of times. There are people out there who unironically struggled with fucking XY.
>>
>>58252605
Legends yes, Champions no, retard
>>
>>58252687
And real-time battles are supposed to be easier for retarded kids to get a hang of? They're gonna be seething when they "swear they dodged that attack" every single time they get hit because they don't understand they're using sluggish fucks with giant hitboxes.
>>
>>58252878
Retard ?

During the Pokemon Present on July 22, 2025, after discussing the cards, the Netflix series, Pokemon Friends, and other spin-offs, the presenter explicitly said:
>"Next, allow me to share some news about the Pokémon MAIN SERIES."
Puis s'enchaine informations suivantes :
-Teraraid in Scarlet and Violet
-Pokemon Champions
-Pokemon Legends Z-A
End of live.

And it makes sense that it's considered a main series, it's partly developed by Game Freak, knowing that it will serve as a support for the official competitive scene. Implying that the gameplay could be modified and varied for all future games, including gen 10.
>>
>>58251936
They make singles the default because singles are the default. The only reason doubles are the standard in tournament is because they're faster. Singles would take nearly twice as much time since switching and momentum is much more important there rather than unga bunga fake out/intimidate/make it rain off rip.
>>
>>58252618
Yeah they made Champions just because they couldn't stomach the idea of fans playing VCG in the same game instead of going into gen 10 that makes sense
>>
>>58253154
No, they made Champions because they want to nickel and dime comptards even harder than they've already been doing. Now not only do you have to buy all these games chock full of DLC (which now extends to the Legends games) that cost a total of 100 USD each to have all the content of for a single version, you also have to buy the paid version of Champions, and still be subject to whatever microtransactions or premium packages they put in after the fact that could very well gatekeep content behind a paywall.
>>
>>58252981
>french redditspacing
oh no no no no no
>>
>>58253174
We already know Champions is free and you don't have to pay for coins, retard. And enough with moving the goalpost, turns are gone from the actual games, Champions is there to cover that
>>
>>58252981
>it's the french redditor who thinks the AI and the professor say different stuff because bulbapedia said so (assuming he wasn't the one writing that shit there in first place)
KEK
>>
>>58253214
>We already know Champions is free and you don't have to pay for coins, retard.
Correct. You can't pay for coins directly, but we DO also know there's a paid version for the Switch consoles, and that comes with the inherent implication that there will be more methods to squeeze extra profits.
https://press.pokemon.com/en/releases/Pokemon-World-Champions-Crowned-at-the-2025-Pokemon-World-Championship
>Pokémon Champions is a free-to-start game coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices in 2026. More details on a paid digital version of Pokémon Champions on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems will be shared in the future.
>>
>>58252683
Yes, it is, redditor.
>no I SWEAR they took this from Legends but it doesn't count okay??!
Stop trying.
