it is not enough to succeed. others must fail

i think most people universally find the pokemon patents to be faggoty as fuck
>>
>>58252168
The funny part is how wrong people are being about them. Like the funniest version of internet telephone.

According to people on the internet they patented the very concept of monster catching when what they did is so highly specific it might as well be "they patented the right to catch monsters on the first third of the month on a equal number year as long as a blue moon happened within the past 18 days and the person playing the game is named greg."

nintendo needs to be broken up

Hi, Nintendo employee
>>
>>58252224
That’s how 90% of video game patents work. You hear “Nintendo copyrighted catching creatures” and then look into it and the patent specifically covers “capturing creatures in throwable balls/orbs and displaying whether the capture worked by having the ball/orb shake until successful capture.”

>lawyers making statements that Nintendo's patents are wildly out of step with the patent system and overly broad
>tendies still assure us that Bing Bing Wahoo company dindu nuttin

who should i believe

Those lawyers belong to Sony, so you can come up with your own conclusions

The truth is patents, copyrights and trademarks are a scam to make conglomerate teams more successful which oppresses actual, small developers

Didn't Nintendo lose the Wavebird lawsuit against freaking Atari?
>>
If you don't patent it before someone else, then someone else can rip it out from under you without even using it. Children cannot fathom the depravity of the legal system.
>loading screen mini-games

The patented concept goes along the lines of "If you summon a creature while pointing at a target the creature will specifically attack it right aways without needing another order", right?

If copyright was a reasonable length it would actually be okay-ish, but perpetual copyright is totalitarian, which is not controversial to argue.

Blocks didn't exist before 2008

Nintendo published Harvest Moon in EU lol

If Sega actually wanted to bring Cream back but couldn't because of this patent, I would kamikaze Game Freak.

Cheese is always floating around Cream (at least in the Advance games) so you technically summon a creature at all, this wouldn't infringe the patent
>>
>>58253160
So you technically don't summon*
