It's correct, however. If you make something too tryhardy and uniform it's not going to be captivating to the wider audience. Just look at every pokémon clone game out there and try finding a single design that sticks to your mind, c'mon. Same thing goes with every non-child or adult Digimon, even if the design philosophy is meant to be different.
