Is it a definitive version? I started playing DS version for a bit but couldn't get into it.
>>
You couldn't get into it because the PMD games aren't fun past the age of like six.
>>
>>58256770
damn... i heard the story in the sequels was good that's why i want to try
>>
>>58256770
Are you confusing PMD with PokéPark?
>>
>>58256770
But enough about the mainline games
>>
>>58256745
They're too childish for people over the age of 14 unless you have nostalgia for it. Thats really all pokemon, but the dungeon games are even worse for it.
>>
I really did not like dx, for every good change in that version, they made several changes that were way worse
>>
>>58256745
Not really, they're interchangeable since DX has changes that updates it to the mechanics they wanted later in the series, which is more of a sidegrade that isn't inherently better. DX does have the benefit of not having to reform your team after every dungeon though, which was my big problem with RT. Was annoying enough that I stopped bothering to get my teammates after a while.
>>
>>58256770
you tried this bait in a different thread yesterday and got no (you)s, really swinging for the fences aren't you
>>
>>58256745
it's a really good remake but it added the really annoying pushing mechanic from the 3DS entries which detracts from it a little. in general though i'd say it's probably the best version to play regardless, and it's absolutely a worthwhile experience.
>>
>>58257907
I replied to it and said the obvious, ain't no six year old got the patience for those games. They'd get bored of the minimal graphics and frustrated from the difficulty, and pissed at the fact that nobody evolves ever.
>>
>>58256745
It's overall better but I wouldn't say it's definitive.
>>58256770
Weird, I'm a successful businessman with a wife and kids and I love these games.
>>
>>58256802
It is. Easily the best story in any Pokémon game.
>>
>>58256745
Explorers of Sky is the perfect mystery dungeon game.
>>
>>58256770
>>58257008
And yet I played my first PMD when I was 19. I enjoyed it very much.

Very funny, Larry, now get back to your Gym Leader duty.

I don't know, I haven't played that particular version.

>I started playing DS version for a bit but couldn't get into it.
What part did you stop at?

I found it to be more of a sidegrade rather than a definitive version, like >>58257874 said.

The gameplay has some good QoL changes, but on the other hand you have several features that make it the easiest PMD in the series.
One thing I noticed is that dungeons vomit PP restoration items at you, likely to "compensate" for removing the basic attack. But that causes PP management to be trivial. Food management is also trivial thanks to the new Rare Trait system.

When it comes to story it doesn't change jack shit, which is a shame since there are many parts of the story that could have used some touchup.

Then you have the artstyle. I didn't mind it, but it is very divisible to say the least.

>>58258272
I'm like Larry but if he ran and owned the Treasure Eatery
>>
>>58258358
I actually found it harder than the original
Traps seem more frequent, stronger Pokémon appear earlier, less cheese strats, bosses having way too much health etc.

Thanks everyone, just binged the demo and i found it's fun so far.

>>58258322
It's just the UI, my ojisan's eyesight can't read small text anymore.
>>
>>58256745
One of my favorite games on the Switch
>>
>>58258747
Ah, I see. That's fair.
>>
>>58258747
glad :)
