What are some abilities you fucking hate for one reason or another?
>>
>>58263466
Unnerve, such a nothing ability.
>>
>dude let's do pixelate, but without the power boost
>also let's only make it useful with hyper voice
>>
What's the one the bug from Sun has where it auto-leaves the fight if HP is lost.
>>
>>58263498
Emergency fucking Exit, Golisopod and Pussypods signature abilities. The ability would actually go hard as shit with First Impression IF they let you get your attack off first, most of the time your slow ass just gets blasted then gets cucked out of an attack.
>>
>>58263543
What is the point of the ability on Gloisopod other than to nerf the entire pokemon.

controversial opinion, but maybe it'll do a lot of good if powerful abilities actually all stopped working below 50% HP.
>>58263475
Instead of just berries, make it so that your opponent can't use their item.
>>58263478
Primarina also gets a Water-type Sound-based attack, making it even more useless.
>>58263543
The point is to abuse it's priority attacks. It gets Sucker Punch and STAB First Impression and Aqua Jet. For sure could use more options though.
Anyway my suggestion:
>Anticipation
As of now it has the user "shudder" if the opponents have a super-effective move against it.
Make this thing fucking useful.
First, just straight up reveal the move that activated the ability. Don't pussy-foot around.
Next, make the ability activate whenever a new Pokemon enters the field of battle. If your opponent is walled and switches out for something carrying a coverage move that's super-effective, reveal the coverage move. Boom.
Lastly, have it fucking work for your Double's partner too. If your Double's partner is weak to a move the opposite team has, reveal it. If both your Pokemon are weak to their moves, only reveal the strongest one, not both.
THERE. EASY. And it's not OP. The strongest Pokemon that gets this is like, Ferrothorn?
>>
>>58263664
it called soul and personality. galar/paldeatroons that can only enjoy minmaxed abominations wouldn’t understand
>>
>>58263664
The point is to nerf it
>>
>>58263466
I don't understand Damp or why it would be useful in any circumstance

i always thought it's meant as a buff to go with First Impression.

>>58263763
Great for catching RETARDED EXPLOSIONFAGS

>takes every pokemon back to gen 1 where no abilities exist in your path
nothing personal kiddo
>>
>>58263678
Yeah, you make a good point.
Golisopod is all about running away, so it makes sense for it to get an ability that switches it out.
Oh, and it's also a Bug/Water-type, and there just so happens to be 2 moves, one Bug and one Water, that make the user switch out!
So Golisopod should... oh what's that? Golisopod doesn't learn U-Turn OR Flip-Turn? Despite the fact that they fit its personality perfectly?
Uh oh! Such a silly little detail might make >>58263678 look like he's completely full of shit.
>>
>>58263466
Magma Armor feels pointless. Chance to freeze is only around 10%. Camerupt and Magcargo are the only ones with this ability. How often are they getting hit by an Ice-type move? Maybe when switching in, but it's still a 10% chance at best.
>>
>>58263863
best part. it technically does have a use but only in-game, it helps hatch eggs. But Flame Body also does that while having a 30% to burn foes on contact, especially valuable for punishing U-turn shenanigans.
Magma Armor is fucking pointless.
>>
>>58263863
it would be rad if it just made you immune to ice entirely.
>>
>>58263885
How about Water as well?
>>
Can someone please explain to me the point of Klutz
>>
>>58263896
by all means. I don't think it would even be OP - not like Magcargo or Camerupt are going to suddenly be top-tier just because they have 2 immunities. They might be niche at best. Would be really funny if gf decided not to give mega camerupt magma armor in the end and just leave it with solid rock too lmao.

>>58263901
the original idea was to give the mon a choice item or a toxic orb or a lagging tail, something that could be detrimental, and trick it off or something. Otherwise just gf making an ability because they just thought it might be interesting instead of trying to make an ability that actively helps the pokemon out. Like how Run Away still doesn't somehow prevent the mon from being able to get out of being trapped by stuff like Arena Trap or Block for some reason.

>As One (Immunity + Limber + Magma Armor + Vital Spirit + Water Veil + a fucking Ghost resistance because why not?)
>>
>>58263475
Unnerve is a good ability
>>
>>58263466
Static and Flame Body. I've had so many battles where it's come down to "If this procs here I just fucking lose and there's nothing I can do about it"
>>
>>58263763
I loved that shit in gen IV. Nowdays is useless but it was nice back then.
>>
>>58263466
All of gen 9 romhack fanfic tier abilities that's like 10 old abilities in one single package.
>>
>>58263763
>>58264084
it'd be cool if it had an extra effect, making mons unable to use fire moves might be cool depending (especially so for vgc because gf loves to make abilities that are only worth bothering with for doubles for some reason)
>>
>>58264093
Played that one hack where every pokemon has three abilities at the same time, shit was wild.
>>
>>58263855
why would he need move that make it switch out when the ability already does that?
>>
>>58263669
>Instead of just berries, make it so that your opponent can't use their item.
A bit too much, I think. I'd just let it stop them from using "edible" items as well, like Leftovers and Herbs.
>>
>>58263478
Primarina should get punk rock instead
>>
>>58264052
it would be good for gyms in-game maybe, lmao
>>
>>58263466
schooling
zen mode
power construct
slow start
>>
Static. Feels like nearly every electric type gets it and it doesn't help you out as much. As for the enemy having it, it means that half your attacks on them just end up paralyzing you.
>>
>>58263763
It's real nice to have in PMD at least. Exploding traps halve your HP and having the ability to negate them entirely helps.

Sturdy is fucking horseshit that only serves to waste your time in playthroughs.
>>
>>58263475
It goes great with Weakness Policy
>>
>>58263863
So back in US/UM, I attempted to beat the Battle Tree with mono-Ground teams. Camerupt was one of the few options that could stay on the field or switch into ice attacks. You fight so many battles and tank ice attacks so often that freeze becomes a real threat. I had my Camerupt freeze a number of times before I realized it was a much better ability to run than Anger Point or Solid Rock for him.
Solid Rock? - you might ask, bewildered.
Yeah, Solid Rock. Camerupt has only 2 weaknesses and one is 4x. He doesnt have anywhere near the bulk to justify the ability, unlike Rhyperior.
And yes, the mega loses the ability, but that still gave Camerupt real versatility in switching into ice moves, transforming, and then delivering the knock-out blow with Sheer Force.
>>
>>58263466
Intimidate in solo playthroughs, especially in Gen IV. Having the ATK lowering animation every time you enter a battle is unbearable.
>>
>>58265861
Intimidate in comp is retarded because it feels like just slapping that ability on something is enough to make it OU. How the fuck is a pokemon that regularly battles getting scared shitless by Incineroar #54936, sometimes even multiple times in one fight?
>>
>>58263475
I hate it because it's an annoyance at best. Not good enough to run on its own, but Calyrex gets it in addition to an actual good ability.
Meaning that it's omnipresent and I can never run berries reliably.
>>
>>58264940
Sounds extremely fun
>>
>>58263466
Hustle makes me want to tear my hair out
>>
>>58263763
>>58264142
damp should block damage from selfdestruct and explosion instead of preventing their use. for the funny, you know?
>>
>>58264946
Why would a Pokemon whose identity revolves around switching out only have one way to switch out?
