Where is the multitype option? Also these are so tiny I can't even photoshoopanyhow here's the squad. TECHNICALLY I guess in a certain kind of way I suppose my team is technically Normal-Type heavy. I also have 2 Psychic-Types in the back to switch in and a couple of Water-Types so I suppose pick whichever team you want depending on the game style, the level scaling or however you want to arrange them

>>58264986I think I misunderstood the assignment, OP. A professional Instantlergram model whose beauty is mirrored in the Steel-Types she commands. Marcia is never seen without her Bronzor at her side. She uses it to check her reflection at least six times every hour. Her Gym is a timed mirror maze. Challengers have to reach her arena before she leaves for her next beauty treatment while her apprentices run stall tactics to slow (you) down. For the beginner challengers who successfully navigate through her maze, Marcia tests not only their understanding of Type matchups, but their understanding of Abilities as well! Those who thought Steel-Types would be easy prey for a Ground-Type will be surprised by her first Bronzor's Levitate. Trainers who brought Fire-Types instead might wonder why her second Bronzor is taking less damage. Upon victory, Marcia awards successful challengers with the Gleaming Badge, a hexagonal polished silver hand mirror, "so that you may reflect on your growth throughout your journey. You should polish that Badge twice every hour."
Type: GroundTeam: depends on region and # of badges. Sandshrew/Sandslash is my signature, not always Ace though.Gym gimmick: Three-Dimensional Full-Scale Earthquake Testing FacilityMy OC is a seismologist. You'd meet the character around the world, a portmanteu of a scientist and a outdoorsman/hiker type. He shows up in places players might get lost in to help out. The gym is frequently closed and the League is constantly on his case about it. He's BIG on earthquake safety. Gym is a puzzle dungeon where you have to use different magnitude earthquakes to scale structures and bypass obstacles. Awards the Preparedness Badge (still workshopping the name)
>>58265664This is so petty, cringe and over the top, its perfect.
>>58265819>This is so petty, cringe and over the topI'll take it. A lot of people will try to come up with the strongest team possible, and that's okay. I wanted to try to focus on what makes a Gym Leader a Gym Leader by demonstrating game mechanics. Challenge Ground-Types with Levitate, counter Fire-Types with Heatproof, pull a fast one on setup sweepers with Sturdy + Metal Burst, punish multi-hit attacks with Stamina, so on. Not only would the player get a hands-on demonstration of how abilities can make or break a mon, the Mirror Shot spam opens up the idea of making a Steel-Type into an evasion tank and suddenly makes even useless abilities like Keen Eye or Illuminate highly-valuable tools the player can benefit from.
I 'm not motivated enough to make a team for every badge. Here is the final team. The Gym is set in an abandoned puppet theater, filled with dusty curtains, broken stage lights, and eerie marionettes dangling from above. Chains rattle faintly in the background, as if unseen strings are pulling everything around you.The Gym plays out like a 3-act play:Each stage features rows of puppets. Some are harmless props, others are controlled by glowing violet strings. Picking the wrong puppet triggers a battle with a “possessed trainer.”In Act II and Act III, the player can find shortcuts or items if they pick carefully. By the climax, the stage is swarming with puppets, forcing the challenger to recognize subtle hints to avoid being trapped. The gym Leader appears behind the final curtain, seated among hanging marionettes. He boasts that he don’t need to fight because 'others fight for him", but when challenged, he reluctantly unleash his team. The he gives:-The Puppet Badge: a cracked white mask- The Substitute TM>>58265664Love this. Very cool unlikable champion.

>>58265126It's kind of funny to think that Blue had a non-mono team all the way back in 1999 and no one else has ever repeated that. >so I suppose pick whichever team you wantYou have 10 Types and Castform here before Horsea evolves, so I could see this being a good midgame IQ test to make sure you know your team and Type matchups before the endgame begins. >>58265351>i choose water type>my team is grapploct, dhelmise, dragalge, and eelektrossHeh. >>58266152I love the creepy atmosphere you've painted here. Crobat and Arbok are great representatives for the stage puppets, and having a mon that hides behind a curtain and a mon that manipulates others into doing her bidding ties nicely into the Leader's character. I could see Mega Gengar's Shadow Tag being a good alternative to Beedrill, but I also see why you wouldn't want to double up with Pecharunt. >>58265222There's a lot to break down here. This team feels like it should be scaled up a few notches. Even if Scolipede and Scizor are good Bug-Types, it feels weird seeing both Wimpod and Charjabug at the same point in the game where we fought Norman's underleveled Slaking, Fantina's Gengar and Mismagius, and Clay's Excadrill. It's clever of you to use Larvesta since its Leech Life would do way more damage than a Volcarona's, but I believe you're selling your idea short by not getting Charjabug off the ground much, much sooner to zap Flying-Types. The Wimpod can stay. Not every teammate needs to be a powerhouse and Wimp Out makes for a good pivot.Beyond the obvious, the theme seems to be "Bug-Types that evolve late (and also Slither Wing)."

>>58264986Gym is based on uncovering the secrets of ancient civilizations and pokemon. Puzzle is based on the unown which spell out riddles and will force a battle with a claydol, Runerigris, Dusclops or Golurk with annoying movesets if you fail. Everything that can learn ancientpower has it on the moveset. The game gives ancientpower an extra 20% chance to get the omniboost while in the gym and no one ingame tells you this.During his rematch he rambles incoherently about discovering ancient ruins and being thrown a thousand years into the future by some giant blue pokemon he's never seen before, where he spent the next 5 years fighting aliens on the moon before finding a way back. No one believes him.

>>58268683>soon mega scolipede>>58264986the gym is in a repurposed factory that had previously been long-abandoned. most of the factory is underground, and only the top couple floors are safely accessible, which house the gym.to reach the gym leader, trainers must solve puzzle to progress from section to section. each section houses at least one trainer, which are sometimes optional. if challenging trainers want to take as few fights as possible, avoiding optionals will make solving the pipe puzzles more difficult.the puzzles involves pushing steam pipes and then stepping on a lever. if the pipes were arranged correctly, the door to the next section opens pneumatically. trainers will have to alternate between the b1 and b2 floors. the final battle takes place in an open space at the far end of the b1 floor that looks like it's been more personalized than the rest of the factory, with area rugs, tables, chairs, couches, and even a small makeshift stage. the ceiling is starkly higher than the rest of the factory here, as it goes up to ground level. with the press of a button, an aperture opens up at the top to reveal a massive skylight. in the daytime, especially at noon when the sun is directly overhead, naural light fills the space.on top of normal pokémon gym function, the gym leader has repurposed the factory as a place to meet with friends and aquiaintences. posters, beat up furniture, and graffiti line the walls and edges of the space. because of the design of the factory floor, the space where people can walk is sometimes narrow to the point of being claustrophobic, or more open.the "theme" influenced the character design of the gym leader and their team much more than it did the gym itself, because i made the chart for another thread from earlier this week.https://pokepast.es/a095a2bc06c9cfe5>>58266152>>58266157love it! we have very similar taste in poison types, lol>>58265819who shit in your coffee?

The Gym is presented as a research institute dedicated to the study of the human and Pokémon mind. Instead of traps or switches, challengers face questions and dilemmas where they must choose between emotional and rational responses. Each answer activates a teleporter: one path leads to a room embodying emotion (with trainers representing states like anger, joy, or fear), while the other path leads to a room embodying reason (with trainers using logic and calculation). Both routes eventually lead to the Leader, but the journey changes depending on the choices made.Examples of dilemmas:“You find a young Pokémon crying on the roadside. What do you do?”>Emotion: Comfort it, no matter how long it takes (leads to a trainer representing anger or compassion.)>Reason: Quickly analyze the situation and bring it to safety (leads to a trainer with a methodical team)“During a battle, your Pokémon is exhausted and clearly struggling. Do you…”>Emotion: Trust its determination and push forward together.>Reason: Withdraw it immediately to avoid unnecessary risk.“A friend makes a reckless mistake that endangers the team. Do you…”>Emotion: Forgive them, because bonds matter most.>Reason: Criticize them, so they learn from their error.Gym leader: Lybra, A young woman, not very tall, wearing round glasses and an elegant, almost Parisian style. She is not a detached scientist, nor an eccentric professor, but a grounded researcher who reconciles both sides in her philosophy.Intro Quote:"Welcome. You’ve made it through the labyrinth of choices. Did you follow your heart, or your reason? …It doesn’t matter. Both are part of who you are.I see battles not as competitions, but as experiments—ways to observe how trainers balance emotion and intellect. So… let’s begin our study."Defeat Quote:"Remarkable. You haven’t denied your emotions, nor abandoned your reason—you’ve let them coexist. That is the true strength of the mind."

>>58264986A sound Based Gym-Leader named MC Yor Mentor. In his prime he was an all-star musician who shook the world with his voice and made the rounds challenging anyone with his Band of sound based pokemon. Refusing to be tied down to just one form of expression he would continuously switch up his style, dabbling in all sorts of genre's from Heavy-Metal to Punk Rock to Country to even Hip-Hop , Dubstep, and Smooth Jazz. After 20 years of being center stage he retired and now spends the rest of his day's either posted up in his Radio Tower exposing the people to new and upcoming talent or nurturing said talent to be the best version of themselves(be it Pokémon trainer or otherwise) they can be in his Music Studio that also doubles as the Gym. His Gym Challenge is very simple: You just gotta make music. It goes in three parts.>Part 1 Choose a genre>Part 2 produce a beat >Part 3 Sing your songFor part one you just simply choose a genre you like and then battle a trainer who specializes in that genre. Part 2 is where you have to travel around his studio looking for strange and odd sounds that constantly repeat themselves(What kind of sounds you hear is dependent on which genre you choose). Once you find these sounds you then gotta add to them. Pretty much turning them into a beat. In my mind this is how the puzzle in part two would go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpkj2eASHQE Skip to 44:28. The final part is a just a rhythm game where you hit the notes on time. Depending on how well you do will determine what reward you receive before fighting MC Yor Mentor. Do terrible you get nothing, do good you get a useful item, do great you get a rare item and if you manage to successfully perfect the rhythm game you receive a shiny pre-evolved form of one of his six pokemons that he will use to battle you with. Speaking of, here's his team:>Exploud>Rillaboom>Toxtricity>Skeledirge>Kommo-o>PrimarinaAfter defeating him you get the TM for Hyper Voice. Thoughts?

>>58274806I was surprised there were so many my self, and most with the same kinda theme too.
>>58273997Pretty solid, but I think we can trim it down a little. Yor is all about mixing it up, so I don't think letting you choose your genre (ergo, choosing your comfort zone) would be in-character for him. What if instead, you navigated the studio and had to engage in rhythm battles with those different musicians in order to assemble a band. You pick and choose which sounds you want backing you up when you face off in the final rhythm battle against Yor. More musicians, more stat boosts. Someone who rushes straight to the Gym Leader will just get silenced by Yor's amped-up team, but the challenger who takes their time and proves their grasp of every genre the studio has to offer can have an entire symphony ready to turn the turntables on the DJ. >>58272661I love how the escalation scales from not a threat, not a threat, not a threat, HOLY FUCK. Fairy type Gym Leader delinquent whose MO is trying to change the cutesy and girly perception of Fairy types with his gruff, edgy, and creepy Pokemon. Despite his intimidating appearance and demeanor, he secretly still has a taste for cutesy things- he tries not to let this side of him show however. His gym puzzle is more of a test and has you follow him around town, joining in on various activities to prove that you're tough and cool enough to battle him- all the while you can see the cracks in his bad boy façade as everyone in town regards him warmly and all of the delinquent activities he has planned don't end up hurting or inconveniencing anyone. For example:Tagging a wall with graffiti (the wall was commissioned to be tagged by the owner so there's no real vandalism going on)Destroying a car (the car belonged to the Gym Leader and was slated to be impounded anyways)Getting a tattoo (it's not permanent) could also unlock a customization option for the player afterwardsDrug dealing (handing out rare candies and potions to young trainers)etc.
