When did Gamefreak become synonymous with objectively low-quality crap and why was it Gen 3?
>OpinionpostWhen did you become synonymous with being a faggot who should suck my girthy BBC and why is it now?
>>58268036>Gen 3>When they were actively still putting post-game content and fun optional shit in the games that wasn't just raids to facilitate a damn-near always online shitfest that also hinges on buying DLC later down the line. That'd actually be the second the games went fully 3D. They clearly have similar levels of passion to what they used to show in the old games but so many good ideas and concepts end up either only being implemented in a borderline vestigial form compared to how they were in design documents or are outright abandoned on the cutting room floor. South Kalos, Post-Game Gyms after becoming the First Alola Champion, the 3DS games should have been great. Then to top it all off, the Switch era happened and Game Freak clearly weren't ready for actual HD or Open World game development as every game since then has practically been a beta test for one to come after.Let's Go was the beta test for HD graphics, SwSh was a beta test for open areas, Legends Arceus was refining that and SV was a first try at an open world, now PLZA is a test for a new battle system. By the time these fuckers have figured out how to actually make HD games they'll still be a good decade behind the rest of the industry.
>graphicsfagDo you also think a movie is good because of special effects?
>>58268036the 3ds games looked good
>>58268036
>>58268394>missing the pointGwaffixbabbies been having a full-on scene since Switch, yet in fact did not have standards as children, as evidenced by the metric fucktonne of effort-filled games that tanked, while kids blindly ate up Game Freak's slop and that happened apace on every system, but soccer moms and grannies fudged DS's sales numbers, so it just behaved as it did during Switch (heavy seller, but ultimately not the most sold, because more than kids and nindentodrones were buying the systems too unlike GBA and 3DS where they top-scored on one, only got beat by mariokart on the other and sold a collective 35m on GBA and 57.04m on 3DS). Pokémon never had good graphics and never gave a fuck for adult players. And you idiots buying in when you were kids were all the justification they needed to do that. Sorry you're not a kid any more. But it is time to grow up about it.
>>58268433wow a lot of yapping man what’s your favorite game
>>58268439Violet, it finally dragged the series to where my imagination envisioned it going 26 years after first booting up Red. The flaws that arrest /vp/ don't hold any sway on my opinions (the games were always well behind the mean and also buggy as shit from Gen 1 too) and at this stage am able to quite easily ignore the fact it's aimed at kids (thus developed to a standard that kids will not find issue with) to find enjoyment in the games regardless. I don't have a "favourite childhood game" though, partly because it didn't exist when I was a kid and partly becauise I'm not an autistic bastard fixated on her lost youth to the point /vp/ are, that causes them to cry the big bad children's series is mean to poor adult anons.
>>58268036I don't really recall being bothered by other GBA games back in the day. I only got it for Pokémon
>>58268481>Violet Opinion discarded
>>58268481Okay I’m not gonna lie I’m actually kinda glad you didn’t go off because I was genuinely curiousIn my opinion scarlet’s base game is great, open world and characters are fun, but the doc dropped the ball imo. Legends za seems to be looking to be amazing. Delphoxite season block aside
>>58268036notice how the alola games are never in these types of posts
>>58268036Putting that argument aside, I'd love a Pokemon demake with that Zelda art style, even with the G5 combat sprites. Something Pokemon has lost over time is that touch of fantasy. In trying to make it an open world, they only created large, empty spaces filled with generic environments.I don't need huge projects with cutting-edge technology. Just give me something small but high-quality, and my imagination will fill the remaining spaces. It would also have the advantage of not taking up space in complex 3D models, so they could easily give us the full dex.
>>58268036Arguably that wasn't a thing until they made the move to full 3D with the switch. Cutting back on half the dex while releasing the game incomplete and half of it being behind a $30 DLC trend started there.Or you could say it was a thing for a brief while with the rental teams in pokemon battle revolution.
>>58269128i literally hate how this fucking artstyle looks
>>58268036Gen 5
>>58268036the switch for sure
>>58268433Missing what point? This thread is precisely about graphics, since that's the only point criticised in the OP.
>>58268036Gen 1 being an insanely buggy game and Gen 2 being a coding disaster that had to be bailed out by Iwata. GameFreak has never been competent at anything but monster design and completely coasted off that but concept alone, just look at what happens whenever they try to do something that isn't Pokemon.
>>58268054>Post-Game Gyms after becoming the First Alola Champion>become champion of the region's first ever league>trial captains and maybe new characters alike are starting up pokemon gyms in alola now that it has a league>as champion it's your job to challenge them and make sure their teams stack upfuck me, that would've been kino.
>>58268481>and partly becauise I'm not an autistic bastard fixated on her lost youth to the point /vp/ are, that causes them to cry the big bad children's series is mean to poor adult anons.i agree that at some point you gotta grow up and realize you liked some things as a kid because you had lower standards, but come on, there's not a single thing you liked as a kid?
>>58268481>heropinion discarded
>>58268481>the games were always well behind the mean and also buggy as shit from Gen 1 tooif your argument is "it's always been shit" then congratulations, you have no argument>heryup that explains everything
>>58268481>favourite>herhi boomerfag
Truth continues to destroy the souls of manchild retards. Cute.
>>58268420>model that is seen in normal gameplay with a dozen other models loaded into memory>model that only appears in a blue dome with a flat groundYou'd hope the model that's sharing resources with 4 other models in am area designed to be as non taxing as possible would be higher quality
>>58268481>also buggy as shit from Gen 1 tooNow this is just rewriting history, bud. Everything buggy in gen 2 was invisible to the player and couldn't be exploited by the player unless you knew what you were doing, at which point you could break the game wide open. Gens 3 and 4 weren't broken wide open until the last 5 years, and people are so uninterested in ACE in those games that there are only a few ACE codes floating around, and they're all for cheating ass shit you could do in 3 seconds with an action replay or pkhex that only exists so a youtuber can go, "Look guys, I hacked this pokemon in the least interesting and most time consuming way possible," unlike rby and gsc, where people recoded the game into being a creepypasta, pong, and super mario land 2.
>>58271390There's still a few that can crop up in general gameplay (not as much as missingno, but Missingno AND glitch city are the reason Cinnibar, Seafoam AND the Safari zone are all nuked out of existence in Gen 2, as the glitches THEY spawned were carried over to Gen 2's code and GF COULDN'T kill them without major overhaul of the code, so just dummied them out). And the fact they even exist means the games are buggy as fuck (GS were based off RG code), regardless if to get most you need to do specific actions (most kids never met missingno and I used missingno to just collect the Safari Zone exclusives in actual battles instead of glitch out my game).
