What if AUSTRALIA was a Pokemon Region?
>>
>>58271198
>posts picture of Australia
>it's of Melbourne, inferior to Sydney
>>

It'd be pretty. Lots of wilderness, a wide variety of Pokémon based on wildlife.
>>
They'd have a Galarian inferiority complex and it would have the highest density of Poison types per total introduced pokémon in series history, finally dethroning Kanto.
>>
All trainer battles would occur in cities, because everyone is too afraid to venture into the tall grass.
>>
A lot of it would be based on Queensland which has rainforest and the great barrier reef and large beaches, the southern areas would have the big cities, caves, mountains and snowy areas
then you go west and it's desert and the outback areas
Perth is isolated and has a mediterranean climate
Darwin is a frontier
Maybe some gameplay to get across the desert super fast?

What are the most kino spots in QLD

A few ideas for crossing the desert quickly.
- region wide train network with a line based on the trans Australian railway.
- Vehicles
- Ridable mons
>>
>>58271385
Gold Coast, Great Barrier Reef, Rockhampton.
>>
>>58271385
Mount Isa is a outback city
Whitsunday Islands
The small towns between Gympie and Rockhampton
>>
>regional fighting type kangaskhan that has male/female forms, female is more similar to OG kanga, male is less bulky but is faster and more attack
>regional psyduck based on platypus, evolves into Platduck (Pun based on platypus/platinum, as opposed to gold for golduck), water/poison
>komala gets an evolution due to the unique eucalyptus-like plants indigenous to the region
>some grass/ghost type didgeridoo mon with sound moves
>early game rodent is a numbat
>early game birds are magpies that evolve into kookaburra
>rare bunyip mon
>legends based on some abbo mythos
>>

Not to toot our own horn, but Australia works so beautifully as a Pokemon region I'm kind of amazed no one's made an actual fangame of it yet and it still only exists in art projects like this one:

https://x.com/VivinkArt/status/1194809320539484162?lang=en

Tons of interesting locations and tons of easy Pokemon ideas. Gotta say for this project in particular that I absolutely love the Australian Internet Porygon. That shit is inspired
>>
Starting area would be based on south east queensland and Australia Zoo
>>
Half the pokedex is just spiders and snakes

I would be incredibly disappointed if it was ALL of Australia. We're too damn big to be one single region and would only highlight the severe lack of effort they put into it.
>>
>>58271211
Labor may have turned us into a fucking shithole, but we're still better than fucking Sydney.

Cities separated by miles of desert
Riddled with bandits
Dangerous wildlife

I know Orre won't be coming back, but an Australian region would be a good spiritual successor. There'd be no need to create new Pokémon. Just include those that replicate or approximate Australian fauna as closely as possible: Swanna (Swan), Golduck (Platypus), Alpha Krokodile (Salt water Crocodile), Dodrio (Emu), Komala (Koala), Heliodisk (Collared Lizard), Galvantula/Ariados/Spidops (Australian Spiders), Sharpedo (Sharks), Manetric (Dingo and Thylacine), Seviper (Taipan), Noivern (Flying Fox), Salazzle (Monitor Lizard), Pikachu (Quokka), and obviously Kangaskhan.

>a big, bare and unthriveable desert in the heart of the region, the whole population lives at coastal areas
>the biggest amount of Poison-types ever, even mammals
>tribes of strangely fat and ugly natives, blacker than Olivia and Nessa together
>flocks of Ground-type birds (emus and cassowaries, unable of using HM02 [Fly], but with high Speed stats) warring with humans for centuries
>the true Mythical of the region is a kiwi-colored kiwi (yep, I know its from New Zealand, but I don't know better)

Ayers Rock holds the Legendary based on the Dream Walker, and their is an opposite place that is a hole in the earth (where the lake that dried would be) that leads to the Legendary based on the Quiknkin.
>>
>fighting-type kangaroo
>dark-type tasmanian devil
>megalania and diprotodon fossilmons
>yowie mythical
>koala to drop bear early "rodent"
>regional birds based on firehawk and night parrot
>big rare bird based on the little eagle prevo and the haast's eagle evo
>make a BIG DEAL about the fence that separates the rabbit side from the non-rabbit side, and there's a rabbit mon (could be bunnelby, could be buneary, any rabbit mon) with a regional form
>one box legendary based on uluru/ayer's rock, another based on the sydney opera house; rock/ghost and steel/poison, based on nature and civilization competing
>both are hueg
>milk bars everywhere
>instead of new zealand references we get references to the philippines and indonesia because of how many people come from there
>have a Unovan embassy where you can get a zorua because it's invasive and they're looking for owners to take care of the ones they catch in the wild
>also the rarest mon in the region is a tazzy tiger, like how feebas was in gen 3
I know it'll never happen but it would be kino
>>
>>58272803
I suspect they recycled parts of this design for kilowattrel. I know that might seem extreme, but this design stored fire in its gular sac, and kilowattrel, well...

Do Japanese people in general understand that Australia is broken into states and isn't homogenous?
The only countries that have been in mainline games are Japan, America, and small ones that don't generally hold relevance to Japanese people.
There's no precedent for how they'll represent a large country that doesn't generally hold relevance to Japanese people.
>>
I'd want to see a male evolution of Salandit based off of a mix of a goana and a komodo dragon, maybe a Poison/Ground type called Shaoana. It's been my wish ever since a region of my country came into potential discussion.
Also, make the two DLC expansions the following
>a Safari Zone that's customisable via arbitrary means like the Johto Safari Zone in HGSS and add different ones in 3-4 areas, allowing you to bring either 30 Safari Balls or 30 of your own pre-picked before heading in. Anything you catch is available in the wild after because invasive species lol
>making New Zealand the new area with about 10-30 of its own original species, while being 50%-double the size (relatively) of the Switch's DLC areas since it'd be the only one with this logic
>>this results in Zarude being the game's 'DLC2 Secret Mythical' via an extremely hidden and well-written quest line
Given that Greece may well be the Gen X game, the latter seems like long enough to let the angry fuck be permanently obtainable.
>>
>>58271198
Assault pokemon would be banned and your trainer rights would be taken away

Aussies have sunshine, beaches and women. Even the dude working in the supermarket has a good life out there.

>tfw when radelaide won't make the cut
>>
>>58274071
to be fair the differences between parts of australia are minimal enough to be able to be all wrapped up in a single region, especially comparing it to stuff like paldea or kalos which had way too much ground covered for their varied cultures. monolithic oz would probably be fine.
>>
>>58274252
Don't be fooled - the job market here is just as sad as yours, and rapidly getting worse with Labor's very European migration policy. The regional centers still have that good, fair dinkum Aussie culture, but the inner cities have turned into the same crime-ridden cesspools as Europe. Also our birth rate's LOWER than yours, I wouldn't bet on the women either.

>>58274450
I actually agree with this. Keep in mind much of my country is a massive, uninhabited desert with a way smaller population than France, Spain, or Britain.
>>
>>58271375
>>58271389
Either a Poison-Type Cyclizar evo, or we are bringing Orre's hooverbikes back.
>>
>>58271198
>even emptier open world with mostly desert
>90% of mons are Poison type
>pseudo legendary based on an emu
>>
>>58274823
could you imagine if we got a stupidly massive open world but you could ride on some insanely fast mon in order to cross it in only a few seconds? that would be actual kino
>>
>>58274826
>doing the Nullarbor on your tricked out Mad Max styled Cyclizar
>>
>>58274826
>>58274839
you know how they have the flash go to australia to run hat one stretch of road occasionally? doing that. kinography.
>>
>>58274747
>but the inner cities have turned into the same crime-ridden cesspools as Europe.
This is so ironic for an island colonized by criminals.
