It'd be pretty. Lots of wilderness, a wide variety of Pokémon based on wildlife.

then you go west and it's desert and the outback areas

I know Orre won't be coming back, but an Australian region would be a good spiritual successor. There'd be no need to create new Pokémon. Just include those that replicate or approximate Australian fauna as closely as possible: Swanna (Swan), Golduck (Platypus), Alpha Krokodile (Salt water Crocodile), Dodrio (Emu), Komala (Koala), Heliodisk (Collared Lizard), Galvantula/Ariados/Spidops (Australian Spiders), Sharpedo (Sharks), Manetric (Dingo and Thylacine), Seviper (Taipan), Noivern (Flying Fox), Salazzle (Monitor Lizard), Pikachu (Quokka), and obviously Kangaskhan.

Do Japanese people in general understand that Australia is broken into states and isn't homogenous?
The only countries that have been in mainline games are Japan, America, and small ones that don't generally hold relevance to Japanese people.
There's no precedent for how they'll represent a large country that doesn't generally hold relevance to Japanese people.

I'd want to see a male evolution of Salandit based off of a mix of a goana and a komodo dragon, maybe a Poison/Ground type called Shaoana. It's been my wish ever since a region of my country came into potential discussion.
Also, make the two DLC expansions the following
