3rd versions are better than dlc.

Berry

yes everyone agrees with this except for executives who want to make more bucks off of people having to buy the 30 dollar dlc even if theyre playing a secondhand copy they still need to buy it & you can never have the full experience with just a single game as it is, clearly corporate greed at its finest
>>
>>58278862
hmm yes i love buying the same game again at full price and playing through hours and hours of shit i've already seen to get to anything new, i don't see how a DLC that costs half as much and doesn't force me to do any of that shit could possibly ever be better than this
>>
Ok bootlicker
>>
>>58278862
If you're emulating, then yes. It's objectively better since DLC isn't an option for poorfags.
>>
>>58278862
>3rd versions are better than dlc.
the couldnt make them in current day because it requires adding a level of polish over the original releases
>>
>>58279058
Yeah i liked the polish like uhh.. hmmm.. let me check.. removing Glameow.
>>
>>58279058
Spending dev time polishing your reused content is massively easier than producing new content. No matter what the voices in your head tell you, its a simple fact.
Also Pokemon DLCs do tend to still be more polished.
>>
One of Pokemon's biggest selling points is also one of its biggest flaws.
>>
>>58279066
>Also Pokemon DLCs do tend to still be more polished.
Kitakami dipped into single-digit FPS because they put grass everywhere.
>>
>>58279074
This was debunked
>>
I want to pay double the price for half the content and no I'm not kidding
>>
>>58279074
That doesn't even make sense, thats not how SVs grass is even setup.
Its not a world object.

I've played it and it performs like base SV, big shocker. The only big difference is they learned how to not have tiling in their modern day 3D game.
>>
>>58279096
When you're anywhere around the apple orchard, the framerate tanks on real hardware.
>>
>>58279105
So just like base SV. Thats true of a bunch of areas in the base game too.
I think you are stretching the point being made, that DLCs "cut out" the expected polish of third versions.
Which also tended to retain shit like being laggy garbage in cases like USUM.
>>
>>58279109
>So just like base SV.
No. SV does not have good performance, but the only place where it was as bad as Kitakami was the infamous lake. Kitakami's performance is overall much worse than Paldea.
>I think you are stretching the point being made, that DLCs "cut out" the expected polish of third versions.
>Which also tended to retain shit like being laggy garbage in cases like USUM.
DLCs lack any improvements made to the base game that third versions would often provide.
>>
>>58279114
Just looking it up, its apparently not because they "placed too much grass" or some shit. But literally just kitakami spawns more pokemon and has more wide open areas. Its just an extension of a base game memory leak.
>DLCs lack any improvements made to the base game that third versions would often provide
Yes because its not just a repackage of said base game. Which is what the third versions were.
Full price repackages with a slight bit of polish and some extra bells and whistles. They don't even need much because they can just do basic changes for variety, wow what a great practice.

Werster agrees. TL:DW: DLC is played once the day it drops and then is exactly the fucking same where as a 3rd version makes improvements to the base game making it more fun to replay.
>>
>>58279274
Like what improvements? Removing Glameow?
>>
>>58279285
Better writing (see Cyrus's plan only making sense in Platinum where summoning both legendaries is the only reason he wouldn't give a shit about you summoning the lake spirits), more challenging main game fights, engine improvements, and all that shit. His favorite example is the Battle Factory but nothing about it has to be from a 3rd version only, just that it's why he fucking loves Emerald and will play it on a flight and not any DLC.
>>
>>58279285
Removed? Where can I get Glameow in Diamond?
>>
>>58279308
What's Diamond?
>>
>>58279314
A game where Glameow isn't obtainable despite being in the code.
>>
>>58279274
I do not really care that much about replaying the games to me it's just an annoying barrier to getting to the actual new stuff.
>>
>>58279317
Oh you mean the Gen 4 game Pearl? Yeah Glameow is in there. But they dexcut it from Platinum when it's supposed to be the "improvement". Funny.
>>
>>58279319
Third versions would always have new stuff during the main game.
>>
>>58279325
Not denying that, I just don't care about the changes they're not interesting compared to getting an actually new plot.
>>
Only technically true because the generations with third versions are better than the ones with DLC instead
>>
>>58279336
Untrue

sapphire and ruby are better than emerald

>retarded poketuber agrees
compelling argument
>>
>>58278862
Nah. DLC allows you to expand on the game you already have rather than having to buy and play through the whole game again.
>But improvements to the base game!
We have content patches. Third versions are obsolete.
>>
>>58280383
>We have content patches.
They have never and will never make changes to the game in the way third versions would. The majority of people would never even see them because they only play a game once.
>>
>>58280501
> They have never and will never make changes to the game in the way third versions would
yeah because unlike Platinum the base game already has good Pokemon distribution and trainer teams.
>>
>>58278862
absolutely fucking not, they're a literal scam

>how do i x in y
stop posting, yawnfag
>>
>>58278862
What if they marketed the DLC as a third version?
>>
>>58280512
Yawnfag doesn't defend the DS games.
>>
>>58278862
There shouldn't even be two versions let alone three.
>>
>>58280529
yawnfag will defend literally anything to be an annoying contrarian faggot
