How come Mega Charizard can have blue fire coming out of its mouth, Mega Blaziken can have fire coming out of its wrists, Moltres can have fire wings,Typhlosion can have visible fire on its back, Infernape fire hair, but Mega Greninja is stuck with these ugly ice looking solid sky blue blocky textures on its head and shuriken ? The "overflowing power seeping out of character's body" trope is almost an anime cliché, wouldn't it obviously have been more cool to have its "antennas" be flowy water like Charizard's fire and give its shuriken an actual water texture ?
budget indie company
I went ahead and checked the Water dex again and despite being the most populated type, not a SINGLE water type has ACTUAL FUCKING WATER anywhere in its design, with the closest being Keldeo/Primarina style blue flowy hair meant to evoke water.Meanwhile there are 35 forms/Mons that have actual fire incorporated in their designs, most of which are super forms or evolutions because having your natural element overflow fom your body is obviously extremely cool. Why are they so dumb ?
>>58279868>It clings upside down to a giant floating water shuriken that was created from a gel-like membrane secreted from its body.
>>58279886Did you miss the "flowy" part in my post ? regardless of what excuse they give, that shuriken effectively looks like ice, it's a uniform sky blue color and fully solid. That's th equivalent of giving cinderace a solid orange colored soccer ball and saying "oh guys it's fire you just have to imagine it !"
>>58279883>Castform>Ash-Greninja>Dewpider>Araquanid>G-Max InteleonThere are a few>>58279907None that are really flowy though. Closest is Inteleon's gun, it's a bit ripply
>>58279868Anon you sound very autistic being so fixated on textures. Who the fuck cares?
>>58280135I care, I asked.
>>58280130Yeah all of these are also some bubbles like Froakie and that gmax crab, ad you said though most of the times they are effectively solid-ish objects made of water
>>58280135dude imagine a pokemon with actual wings made of water (that could even be lugia in a remake form) or levitating water constantly flowing out of its wrists like blaziken or idk a lion with a water mane, of course i care it's obviously fucking extremely cool
>>58279868>>58279883Huh, I never noticed this. Now that you point it out, this IS really silly. I’m stunned they haven’t stumbled onto this as a design element on a single Water mon yet, when you’ve got:>Electric types with electricity coming out of them >All Rock types covered in rock>Ground types spitting sand left and right>Psychic and Ghost types with weird energy all around them>Gastly with his Poison cloudBut I guess no Grass types have any actual grass on them. That would be cool to see too.
>>58280177...torterra?
for me it's a fighting type with fighting on them
>>58280177I also checked and Electric types with actual electricity are suprisingly somewhat rare too, I counted Miraidon, Gmax pika, Rotom and Toxtricity
>>58280190wtf bro
>>58279868They aren’t Sega. That’s why.
>>58280195oh yeah, seems like it's gotten a lot more common in recent gens so maybe i'll get what i want in gen 10
>>58280130Oh wait, Finizen, Palafin, and I guess Quaquaval's tail fan things when they're out too>>58280165Again though, more like bubbles or solid constructs
>>58280177Shaymin? Gogoat line? Torterra line? Trevenant line?
>>58280348Those are leaves, anon
>>58280348Shaymin I always assumed was more mossy than grassy, but after a second look I suppose this would be the closest example. Gogoat line MAYBE, but definitely seems bushier. Turtwig line and Trevenant? Absolutely not, those are clearly trees. And besides, there’s still not a single Grass Pokemon that CLEARLY evokes ACTUAL grass. Really, the conversation here is about actual model textures, which Fire-type Pokémon benefit from all the time, and then there’s Gastly, Rotom, and basically fuck all else.
>>58279868This thing is such a massive downgrade from Ash Greninja. They should have just retconned the battle bond form to the mega.
>>58280177Are there any pokemon that're made of their type besides rock, steel, ground, normal, fighting, flying, fairy, ghost, dragon and ice? There's no pokemon that's a living fireball or a living ball of plasma or water or tornado I guess there's Vaporeon it's more of an animal than water
>>58281808Well all bug-types are bugs, so add them to the list. And several grass-types are straight up plants. Not literally grass, sure, but that's just the type's english name>living ball of plasmaIsn't that what Rotom is?
>>58281808if vaporeon was like, 90% opacity and had very slight scrolling textures a la water from the SMG2 W6 cave galaxy, that'd be sick
>>58281835>Isn't that what Rotom is?I'm a fucking moron I forgot all about rotom. In my defense I haven't seen rotom outside of a phone in years like I remember playing scarlet for time and running into a rotom in the wild that thing was bouncing all over the place I had no clue what it was
>>58280177If you wanna be technical, the ONLY pokemon based on an actual type of grass isn't even Grass to begin with.
>>58281993This is actually insane to point out. There are TONS of “technically it’s a type of grass” plants to base a Grass-type Pokémon on, and I can’t find a single example of one in the entire dex. This is the only fucking one and it’s not Grass-type, insane.Examples of plants in the grass family Poaceae:>corn>wheat>oats>rice>birdseed>sugar caneSure, they’re mostly food-based, but when has that ever stopped them? You’d think at least ONE of these actual grasses would have inspired a Pokémon by now.
>>58281993They could have just called it the Plant type
