I always really liked this rivalry. Yeah Heracross has a second type, but Heracross resists it. So really it's straight bug vs bug. I kinda wish they both got signature moves that would draw attention to their different headgear. Pinsir needs a Mega Horn equivalent.

I would. Pinsir got done dirty in gen 2. Not only did his counterpart Scyther get an evo, GF made Heracross who's basically PInsir but better in every way.

It doesn't really need a stat increase. Heracross has almost the same stats with the same BST, it just gets great abilities and the extra STAB and Megahorn.

Just having an evo would mean Pinsir gets access to Eviolite like Scyther, that's not bad. Really what Pinsir needs, and what the evo would give, is an expanded movepool and new abilities.

I never see it come up when people talk about redesigns to pokemon throughout the years but thoughts on Pinsir with beady eyes? It was only by Yellow they gave it the angry Toriyama eyes, wish they kept these as they're more like a real stag beetle's eyes.

The only real Fighting move it got in Gen 1 was Submission via TM (80 BP, 80 acc dogshit). At least Seismic Toss is decent even though it gets no type bonus.

True, but so did everyone else that wasn't Hitmonlee, so I figured they were all in equally bad company there. But yes, a stronger bug attack would have been great. In the usual obnoxious tradition of repurposing moves one could make Cut and Vice Grip high-critical bug moves ala Razor Leaf (let Scyther learn the former by level up due to his late-game status). Solves the problem for RGBY at least.
