What you think of as pokemon and what most pokefans think of as pokemon are fundamentally different concepts. I'm not even passing judgement I just wish we were not lumped together through the same semantics because we're talking about very different things. Such is the nature of long running franchises I guess but it's still unfortunate.
>>
But what I think of pokémon IS what "pokéfans" think of it, because I escaped the critical, fundamental keystone of what you lot consider "Pokémon", due to never meeting it as an autistic, impressionable 7 year old, to fundamentally misinterpret the thing as you all do so readily.

Shit just noticed I mistakenly said "you" instead of "I" in the OP so it makes no sense. Unless the mods wanna edit my post I blew my own thread. Oh well

What do you think of as Pokemon?
Only the original 151? 251?
Watercolor painting style?
No waifumons?
Zero shits given about competitive balancing?
Shitty stats and movepools based on flavor rather than in-game viability?

>Only the original 151? 251?
Only any mon that showed up in the anime, so the original 151 + Ho-oh and Togepi
>Watercolor painting style?
Any old school Toriyama-inspired style that captures the sense of exploration and wonder of the original.
>No waifumons?
Yes. This was meant to be a badass shonen with giant kaiju, not waifus, furries or babymons.
>Zero shits given about competitive balancing?
Competitive was better because it didn't have IVs, EV limits or the physical/special split.
>Shitty stats and movepools based on flavor rather than in-game viability?
Pokemon should only be able to do moves they'd viably be able to with their body type. Quadrupeds should never have punching moves for example. Even gen 1 made mistakes like this, like giving Kangaskhan Surf or Doduo Fly.
>>
>>58292049
I think Kangaskhan having surf is a reference to kaijus causing tsunamis and natural disasters in general. Doduo learning fly is retarded though, i mean even fucking Charizard didn't have access to it until Yellow
>>
>>58292049
I'm OP and you're not me. Fuck the anime

>Only the original 151? 251?
151

>Watercolor painting style?
Not necessarily though I do appreciate it. The beta concept art and the red and green spritework are not watercolor and I like it even more.

>No waifumons?
Female-coded mons(Jynx, Nidoqueen, Chansey, Kangaskhan) are fine on principle, sexually suggestive fursuits aren't

>Zero shits given about competitive balancing?
Wouldn't say zero shits but it's a very secondary matter

>Shitty stats and movepools based on flavor rather than in-game viability?
There is a lot that could be "fixed" about gen 1 movepools but yeah all the tremendous neverending bloat that was added certainly wasn't the way to go about it

Are these female-coded mons or sexually suggestive fursuits?
>>
>>58291952
Holy fuck this is embarrassing OP, just bumping this thread to show everyone how retarded this thread this because of your terrible fuck up.
>>
>>58292149
Those are humanoid, female-coded designs. Mons like Tsareena and Lopunny, on the other hand, are obviously suggestive.

Ok
