Is anyone else experiencing this as a possible Mandela effect?

I always thought it was StarMINE, or sometimes pronounced with a silent N so Starm-I

Now I just checked some clips from the old TV show and it was pronounced StarmY.

Just seems wrong.

Some person from my previous thread also brought up Phanphy, which is now Phanphy (Phanpie).

Star(you)> Star(mine)/Star(my)=StarmY???
Make it make sense.

Onix or Onyx? I remember it specifically because I was learning spelling when I played Pokemon. There was a time I was doing aimless shit brute forcing myself through the game then I learned to actually read. I learned onyx (onyeex) was actually pronounced Onix.

Furthermore I dress as Pikachu one Halloween and can distinctly remember there being a black stripe at the end of its tail. The wrestler Pikachu reflects this later but has a heart shape due to the gender difference retcon of it being female.

No.

As a kid I used to think Ninetales "really" had six tails despite the name/lore insisting it had nine; like they just called it that but were too lazy to draw all the tails, as an artistic shortcut kind of thing. As an adult I wondered why I ever thought this because in the vast majority of Ninetales' art and and sprites you can clearly count all nine tails. I wondered if I was just a dumb fucking kid or if I had a false memory or whatever.

Then I saw this (off-model) art that was used a lot in RBY guides and realized that was where I got the idea from in the first place. Sugimori just drew it with six tails here for whatever reason and that shaped my entire impression of Ninetales as a mon because it's probably the image of it I saw the most.

also I did think the Donphan's prevo's name was Phanphy but I never used one, so I'm sure I just read it wrong

Dolphan (Dolfan)> Phanphy (Fanfy) = Phanpy (Fanpie)

They changed the pokemon names from Japanese for a reason. I'm sorry but STARMY seems linguistically like a pre evolution to Staryu (Star-you). Starmine (Star-my) is the next logical linguistic evolution.

They're fucking with our reality and laughing at us.
>>
>>58293789
I think this is a bigger problem because we had the tv show and pokemon stadium guide us through the linguistic pronunciation of the pokemon names, it's on par of someone telling you Geodude (gee-odude) was actually Geode dude. It's wrong because you were taught the right way and now someone is fucking with your mind.

StarmY was StarMINE and I refuse to accept the former. It's like saying the evolution of Pikachu is Pikachu-yee. Linguistically adding a Y at the end makes it a baby.

StarMINE. IT LOOKS LIKE A MINE OR BLAST CHARGE. FURTHER LINGUISTICALLY ENFORCED BY IT BEING UNDERWATER. IT WAS STARMINE NOT FUCKING "STARMY".

It's always been Star-you and Star-me, as in you and me.

But if you really wanna hit your brain with a 404 error listen to the last 30 seconds of "we are the champions."

When the fuck is there a silent N anywhere but the last letter of a word?
>>
>>58293734
This fake design isn’t as bad as the other ones
>>
There has never been an N. Star-my would be dumb. It's not you and my, it's you and me. It's in the damn theme song.

But uh, my shameful mispronunciation was admittedly Kay-oh-gree as opposed to Kai-oh-ger, so what do I know.
>>
>>58293734
forget you being retarded about starmie, the phanphy thing makes me doubt the entire mandela effect on its face and i vividly remember the berenstein bears, because it's always been phanpy and i have ALWAYS, like SINCE GEN 2, been surrounded by dumb motherfuckers who can't read and thought it was phanphy. it's not something that changed overnight, you're just illiterate.

See you guys are kinda just proving my point.

Starmie is pronounced starmy- like stormy. Not Star-my or star-mI. It just feels wrong because it is wrong. It's like if Star-yu (Star-yu) was pronounced stary-u (stary-you) instead

Mandelashit is so retarded. Some asshole intern says "no our underwear logo never had a cornucopia" and we STILL have to hear about "muh dimensional slip bro totally different reality"

The problem is a lot of kids learned about Thanksgiving and the 'cornocopia' shit by having teachers reference the logo on their tightly whities. Sorry but you're never going to explained that shit away. Its a dead brand no one wears now but at the time it was ubiquitous. You'll never convince kids from that time period that it was just fruit piled up with no weird horn basket.

>Did I misremember? No, it's the timelines that shifted.
I kill Mandellafags in every dimension.
>>
>>58295612
personally i don't think it's too unreasonable that, say, high energy physics experiments have sent shockwaves through spacetime that slightly altered the past, thus changing the present, without altering something as transient as brain synapses in the present - leaving people with memories of a past that no longer exists. the spacetime shockwaves thing was a cocern at CERN before the LHC was first fired up, which coincidentally is around the same time people started reporting experiencing mandela effect phenomena, so to me it tracks even if it's extremely difficult if not impossible to prove.
...all that to turn around say that most of the time, barring the biggest, most glaring and bizarre examples like the berenstein bears and the disappearance of doveland wisconsin, it's definitely people being fucking stupid.

Star-YOU
Star-ME
I don't see what point you're trying to make?
>>
>>58293734
Ah, yes. "You" and "mine."
By your logic, Staryu shouldn't be Staryu but Staryohrs.

My favorite is people insisting Spider-Man was originally spelled Spiderman.
There are interviews with Stan Lee explaining why he added a hyphen (to make it look less like Superman), and how he kept having to correct people because they weren't paying attention and copied it down without one. Even the comics have had jokes where Peter corrects other characters on his name after they "didn't pronounce the hyphen".
