Because they don't want to overshadow the newer releases. Maybe the will re-re-release gen 1/2 on the NSO for the 30th anniversary but they will never ever put the GBA and DS games there.

Because Nintendo makes retarded decisions regarding retro stuff. They love drip-feeding with their re-releases. Hell, look at how long it took them to put gens 1 and 2 on the 3DS. Crystal version was one of the last 3DS VC games. They didn't even get a change to put RSE on the Wii U. It wouldn't suprise me if it takes until the end of the Switch 3's lifespan or what BS the Big N comes up with next for us to get anywhere close to having all the main games released, if that is to even happen at all.

Maybe because I waited out the entire Switch 1 without seeing anything and now we are on a new system....

TPC's decision, mainline Pokemon games are too powerful for them to offer for "free", that's why NSO only has spinoffs.

I wouldn't count on it. Hold on to those physicals, otherwise stick with an emulator.

The fact Nintendo is willing to release both the Mother series and Virtual Boy before any mainline 2D game on NSO should speak for itself.
