I believe this happened with Gamestop carrying the "berry glitch" patch Zigzagoon in Gen 3. Nintendo wanted it in retail, and made it worth Gamestop's while.

Apparently, a lot of code cards never made it to Gamestop/EB stores. Because the product can't be tracked in inventory, a lot of them were diverted (stolen) by employees working at the card printers. Since the codes can be used globally, those code cards are being sold in other markets for a quick buck. TCG scalpers are scum, but they're a tiny downstream trickle compared to the thousands of cards stolen from the source.

To put it in perspective, if every North American store received 50 code cards, that would only be 125,900 units. Half that, and you have only 63k Koraidon and 63k Miraidon. Meanwhile, the ruin raids averaged around 1-2 million battles per Pokemon.

The ruin raids counted # of defeated Pokemon, not how many players were in a party. The drop from 2m+ in the first raid, to the final raid being 1m less, suggests 1 million is a good estimate for active global players who want new shiny Pokemon. The first number represents players doing more raids to overcompensate, and the last raid (the most popular of the 4) shows players responding to previous numbers and playing less.

Any duplicate player battles can be offset by the inevitable batch of players who either don't know about the event, or have other priorities.

They had sleeves of 50, and and each store gets some number of sleeves. The gamestop near me does a lot of traffic and were smart enough to request a bunch of them. They still ran out day 1 but I was able to snag one. Meanwhile the other two within a reasonable distance were retarded and gave them out like candy to tcgfags and scalpers and ran out in like an hour. Needless to say corporate did right by only giving them one sleeve each.

On the Projectpokemon site, top right under download there's event gallery, then you click gen 8 - SwSh on the right side bar, it should direct you to the gallery page

Just drag the .wc8 file into the pkhex window, on a box slot. It should generate a legal mon for you. You can then edit the mon to your liking. Pkhex might raise a stink if the met date is wrong but Home wouldn't care. They're easy to fix anyways
Actually old events like these are already baked in, you can just go tools - data- Mystery Gift database and search for the mons.

Yes your mon will remain legal, the mon will only get a home tracker when it touches home (actually transferred into a home box, opening your savefile in home won't give it tracker). The games have no knowledge of home trackers themselves.

Your switch is 100% safe regardless. If the trade can go through then you're good.

Yeah that would be fine too. The problem with Home Trackers only comes up when you try to generate a pokemon whose origin game is not your current game. Say if you generate a Shiny Zacian or Calyrex of SwSh origin straight into SV, then you wouldn't be able to get them into home.
