It's too bad there are no detailed Pokémon retrospectives that focus on the generation as a whole. Yes, there are many Pokémon retrospectives, but they mostly focus on the games rather than the entire generation.
For example, a Generation 1 retrospective is usually about Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. Generation 2 is about Gold, Silver, and Crystal, etc.
I mean a generation as a setting or a certain era in the Pokémon series-including the anime, manga, etc. How was a certain region depicted in various media? What did the geography, fauna, and flora of a certain region look like? What kind of atmosphere did a certain region have? What was the fandom like, and how did the fandom react to this generation?
Most notably, I haven't seen a full-length documentary about the original Pokémania. Videos on the topic are scarce, and they are rather short.
