Gonna do a bug monotype playthrough soon. R8 my team.
>>58310685What game even has all of these?
>>58310710I'm just going to play a romhack that has all the pokemon in it.
Based on my favorite insects
I love this goofy little pond skater like you wouldn't believe
>>58310681Stop that
This motherfucker's pretty cool. I don't think I ever saw him in game or the anime movie, though. So I only know him from the pokedex.
>>58312793Forgot the image. Oops
>>58312798There's literally a whole movie dedicated this guy.

>>58310311Good thread, my favorite type. >>58310685It's my favorite way to play Radical Red. I stopped playing at gen 7 and getting to use the new bugs added since was a lot of fun. Golisopod, Araquanid, Rimbombee, and Lokix all bacame favorites thanks to these runs.>>58311548This line has grown on me overtime, shame about not keeping it bug/water.>>58312798My favorite legendary.

>>58312865Beedrill is so misunderstood. Poor thing gets treated like the big bad guy in the anime when in reality it's only protecting the vulnerable Kakuna from anyone and everyone that trespasses into its territory. How many times have we seen Beedrill get zapped or attacked in some way when they weren't even looking for a fight in the first place. :(
honorary bug
I love Armaldo so much, but I am so mad that Game Freak choose one of the worst dual types ever for him. Also I don't see him often in bug threads...>>58314156Drapion is my favorite Poison type!
>>58314198>Rock/Bug is one of the worst dual types everHuh?
>>58314263Ok now that I think of it, I definitely was wrong. Separetely, these two types kinda suck but together they have some synergy because they cancel each other weaknesses. But on the other hand, being walled by Steel, weak to Water, weak to Stealth Rocks, and only resisting Normal and Poison, it kinda drags it down a little bit.I kinda underrated his double type, but I think it is his awful Speed that made me pessimistic about it.
>>58310681Ampharos, use Discharge!
>>58314156I'd personally also consider the Trapinch and Gligar lines as honorary bugs. They're not Bug-type, but they're based on insects and they're in the Bug egg group. Aaron, the Bug-type E4 member in Sinnoh, even uses a Flygon on one of his rematch teams in BD/SP.

>>58314799Another flawless victory for AmpharoSTACIES
>>58314308I get it man. Bug/rock's biggest crime is that it's not bug/steel...
>>58310311My favorite bug is the missingno glitch
>>58317290the og classic!
Back when I was a kid (as early as kindergarten age), my biggest fixation were insects and above all else, Lepidopterans, alongside Pokémon. I had a butterfly net with which I'd catch wild ones to identify and let go (wide-brimmed hat and shorts included, yes), an ant farm, a terrarium, we raised stickbugs we'd steal from the zoo, I cried when I watched Nausicaa and they took away her caterpillar thing, my first card ever was a Nincada, etc. I even drew myself and my mom as a caterpillar and butterfly respectively in most of my drawings - hell, I'm pretty sure I'm a Wurmple in one of them. And don't get me wrong, throughout the years I've expanded my interests beyond just entomology and I've had favorite Pokémon from throughout all types. But with my 23rd birthday just around the corner I can't help but reminisce about how much fun it was to get to experience having these two passions side-by-side as a kid and how much I'd love to pickup either, or both, again. I don't see nearly as many butterflies in my city as I used to, but maybe I'll move to someplace else and dust off my net. tl;dr they really should print more bug pokemon or come up with some archetype for them in the TCG so i can actually play with them outside of showdown

>>58312798So fuARKING badass
is it just me or are bugs evolving too late these days? you used to get fully evolved bugs by lvl 20 but now it feels like an oddity
>needing to evolve
>>58318612That's such a sweet and wholesome story, anon. Hope you get to live somewhere someday where you can find and enjoy more butterflies and other insects!
