Due to the nature of most fanfiction writing, where most readers are basically going chapter to chapter between posts and not just binge-reading the story, is leaving little hints and clues for major twists later in the narrative a good idea or will they likely be forgotten about? I've been having too much fun leaving little things throughout the story, but I'm so far away from actually revealing what those hints lead up to I'm starting to realize they might get forgotten about.I suppose the best answer is "if you ever finish it won't be a problem because people would hypoethitcally binge it," but I'm still curious about what others think about it.

It'll be really funny when the big reveal does hit and I get to ask everyone where they thought the foreshadowing was and no one says the specific instance I'm talking about. In peoples' defense, there were a lot of gnarly reveals in that chapter which swept the subtle things under the rug.Although, the twist isn't necessarily a hard one to guess (and it's been guessed, but just not with any evidence). The "why" and "how" is more fun.

It’s really satisfying having a “code word” in setting up the twist. One day, if I ever get this far, peeps will ask “how could I have seen this coming?” And then I get to say “ctrl+F *word*” and you’ll see it.Almost as satisfying as dropping the entire theme of your story in the opening line.
How distinct would you say pond-based creature Pokemon and sea-based creature Pokemon would be? Like, would one be able to find a Psyduck or Quagsire out in the ocean for instance, or would that actively harm them to the point where they just outright don't live there?

>>58325115FFfag here, I honestly have been wanting to draw mine but I'm painfully autistic about drawing. I used to run an FF AU art blog where I redesigned FF characters as if they were from a different FF (almost every FF game is set in a different, sometimes wildly so, setting). It was fun working with a bunch of different art styles, but my brain approaches art in a more mechanical way than I wish it did. So one piece to the next would wildly vary in quality. And since I can only coax my adhd to allow me to draw in very specific circumstances I don't draw enough to build up practice.But I do love drawing in Yoshitaka Amano style and have drawn in Ken Sugimori style before too. I've been wanting to draw Wol and the others, but I don't like the idea of them being given 'official' designs. One of the strengths of writing as a medium is allowing the reader to imagine what the situation looks like. Every reader is going to have a different idea for what each character and place looks like, and I value those different perspectives. So if I were to draw them I'd likely abandon the concept of an 'on model' design and would draw them differently every time. So I'd probably lean fully into Amano's wild and fantastical style, and if I ever actually color them I'd go full JoJo with the color scheme being different every depiction. Sometimes Wol would have red hair, sometimes white, maybe his armor would match Blastoise in one picture while another one would see him in shining silver. Honestly thinking about it is pretty exciting and I kind of want to give it a shot.
