I'm currently 93,122 random encounters and 12 shinies into a shiny ralts hunt in pokemon emerald. Over 300 hours of looking so far I think

gardevoir is my favorite pokemon and shiny gardevoir is my favorite shiny design. I want to get a ralts in gen 3 (the earliest game with backwards compatibility and the ralts line's original location) and use them to go through all of the games, doing as much content as possible, getting all the ribbons (like for beating battle towers, contests, champions etc.), and then transferring them up through each generation. I want to have a super long big epic pokemon adventure through all the games with my favorite pokemon basically.

I could breed one but I think it will be more special from a roleplay autism point of view to find a ralts in the wild, and that also means I can catch them in a premier ball (my favorite ball) since parents passing on pokeballs wasn't added until later. I also am just grinding it out now as hard as I can because I know pokemon bank will be removed at some point and then I won't be able to transfer them from gen 3 all the way to the latest gen.

Respectable.
Godspeed fellow, Gardebro. I once thought of doing something like you, but I was pretty happy with the Gardes I caught on Arceus and SV and I roleplay autismed them up already so I would feel bad for discarding them at this point.
I wish you fortune.

You know how Emerald decides the encoutners characteristics right? In that case, mindlessly soft going for encounters is a bad strategy.

Thank you anon, I will endure

Yes, emerald has the random seed locked meaning it's not actually random and never changes. You can avoid that with wild encounters by never turning the game off, but there is a discovered workaround. If you interact with the paintings in the lillycove contest hall, it turns your random seed into the number of frames that have passed since you started the game. Therefore you can get a different random seed every time you play by just starting each session by interacting with that painting (at a different second each time).

I'm sorry to hear that, anon. You probably shouldn't spend your final moments on Pokemon though, that's a bit of a waste
>>
>>58344305
no joy in that

You’re wrong, but it’s a different feeling. Very fun to work everything out and get good enough to hit a frame, but you do you. Working on something long term like this is a completely different kind of fulfillment.

I hope you're ensuring you wont get teleport fucked while hunting anon... hint with something that disables it
>>
>>58343965
I injected a shiny. Took a few minutes
>>
I remember you from a couple years ago when you last tried to do this. Why did you give up back then?

>Wasting 300 hours on this.
