It was a laggy, buggy, poorly-optimized mess on the Switch (I've heard it's better on the Switch 2). The open world just felt empty, and any time I tried to go in the wrong direction, I'd either get statchecked by a big level gap because this is a turn-based RPG, or the level gap would be small enough that I could make up for it and then become overleveled for the area that I missed.If they'd had more time, they could have fixed the game and implemented some soft scaling systems that lets the game keep up with you.

To be fair it had it's ups, mostly downs. I still enjoyed it for a fair share. I always expected Mesagoza to turn into what LZA became, possibly that it became an inspiration? There are gates that are always left open, similar to Area Zero's gate and if you use the ZL button on some parts of the wall in Mesagoza you can see through the terrain to see that there is a large flat texture of land with trees around it.
