>Ask a so-called competitive Pokémon expert for a team set
>Add caveat that this is for fun and I want to include my favourite shitmon + 5 members that can help the most
>"My suggestion is to drop [shitmon]"

>"[shitmon] is a waste of space in the team"

>"[shitmon] will make you lose and-"
MOTHERFUCKER I AM FULLY AWARE MY FAVOURITE SUCKS. Just build the damn team. Aren't you supposed to be thousand of times a better player than me? Aren't you supposed to know this game inside and out? Surely you can humour me and make my team go from losing 90% of the time to only losing 80%.

How is this so difficult to understand for so called "pro players"? I am not playing to win, but I want to play with my shitmon on the highest potential way. Use your imagination because I do not know the meta and I don't know anything outside of Smogon recommended sets and interactions.

Either Unown or Luvdisc. Whichever can "do the most".
I still can't decide which of the two I love the most and my heart is at crossroads here.
>>
>>58351433
Your best bet is to experiment yourself. You don't care about losing which is a great mindset for practice. Go build a team based on whatever random strategy you think might work or be cool, go give it a test run, see if you can recognize where your strategy comes up short and then change your team up in a way you think will make up for that weakness.

But keep in mind I'm a shitter too who battles full Fighting/Grass or full Fighting/Ghost in monotype. This is what I did. Didn't make my picks good, but made them slightly better through refining.
>>
>>58351454
There is one guy on youtube who does all kinds of gimmick battles like only baby pokemon in ubers and stuff like that. He does a lot of meme builds, from what I've seen of his videos your best bet is baton pass shenanigans.
>>
>>58351478
Forgot his name, temp6t on youtube. He plays through like a dozen losses until his bullshit gimmick wins and then compiles the wins into meme videos. Aping some of his older strategies might be up your alley.
>>
>>58351454
Well these are both extremely dogshit, but Luvdisc less so, Union is barely a Pokemon lol. Cute favourites tho.

Not related but a lot of romhacks jerk of Luvdisc (and sometimes Unown) with plenty of buffs, if that's something you'd ever be interested in. For actual competitive do you mean Smogon? There are a ton of different tiers for that reason, Luvdisc and Unown probably fall in the lowest of the low, but they would fare much better there.
>>
>>58351454
Well luvdisc is the only one with a moveset. Run a rain team that could benefit from a swift swim supporter. Off the top of my head, focus sash, 252 hp, 252+ speed, 4 whatever, swift swim, baby-doll eyes/flip turn/safeguard/wish. Wish won't heal much but sometimes you only need some. You'll end up sacing it 99% of the time but if you have a generic rain team you can give status protection and the occasional heal or pivot this way. Baby-Doll Eyes is the most niche move here I think but it's +1 priority so you're near guaranteed to effectively get off an intimidate on the opponent. You could also use Charm and just rely on your speed.
>>
>>58351454
youre talking to singles format fags when u should b talking 2 doubles format fags
>>
>>58351454
Okay, wow. Those are really bad.
I think your best best is legitimately just to take a normal sample team, play around with it a little, figure out whoever is putting in the least work, and replace that Pokemon with Luvdisc.
>>
>>58351469
>You don't care about losing which is a great mindset for practice.
>But keep in mind I'm a shitter too
how would you know what's a good mindset for practice if you're a shitter?
>>
Is there really nothing unown can do at all in anyone's wildest dreams doing the most gimmicky of gimmicky gimmicks? Out of everything in pokemon, every little obscure thing possible, still unown can do absolutely nothing?
>>
>>58352619
Because as a shitter I've improved by this method. I went from the 90% to 80% loss rate that OP is hoping to achieve.
>>
>>58352622
With only one move that doesn't even exists in the games nowadays, it is kinda complicated.
>>58351496
Yeah, I tried in older gets with Pelipper. I used to try an "annoyer" set. But without access to double team, it's basically impossible.
I wish there was a game I could use Luvdisc reliably besides hacked Pokemon Mystey Dungeon.
>>58351898
I thought doubles people were even worse when it comes to meta. Specially VGC.
>>
>>58351454
You can do something with Luvdisc, even if you're just abusing sash/endure + endeavor. If you want to use Unown, try using one in-game and focus on collecting as many ribbons as you can with it. I had a little fun in BDSP getting the Tower Master ribbon for my Unown.
>>
You obviously don't care about winning so just use 6 lvl1 Luvdiscs.
>>
>>58353138
>I wish there was a game I could use Luvdisc reliably
I've always been surprised that it takes so long in most games to get a Luvdisc. They really should let you catch one before a first gym in some game.

I won a gen3 OU match with this team. Required perfect prediction. I almost beat someoneone with Spinda instead of P2, but that guy sucks and had to drop him.

P2 is cheating, that thing is legitimately viable. Try Castform.

The best performance I've seen was over at the Eternal Battle Reverie as the opponent.
Unown's talents lie outside of battle.

Yeah I already use Unown in games. Luckily there are tons of hacks for that and one crystal hack even lets you have Unown as a starter. That one is one of my favourites, and you can even edit the Unown's DV so that it has the optimal hidden power. I always use an Unown I.
>>58353312
Why is Magikarp the old rod encounter when it is unironically good? It should be Luvdisc as the Old Rod one, and Magikarp for the good rod.
I wonder if Gamefreak realises how weak they made Luvdisc. There is no weaker fully-evolved Pokémon than it, besides Unown.
>>58354259
That's maybe good for NU, but if I am using Luvdisc on OU, I have to bring other heavy-hitters to carry him.
I guess I should just put myself out there and learn. The only metagame I really know (and this is just because of randbats) is gen I.
>>58354287
>
>>58354757
I do hope they bring Unown in a new main-line regular game and give it Hidden Power for itself only.
>>
>>58351433
Most teams aren't designed to be down one Pokemon. A team of 5 won't lose 10% more, it will lose nearly 100% of the time because you're playing 5v6 and your opponent will know with near certainty how you're going to approach the battle because of your limited options.
>>
>>58354858
Please, humour me

Okay, here's something I put together.
https://pokepast.es/41ae457124689e54
The strategy is to let Luvdisc get knocked down to its sash and then Endeavor. When it's not at low HP, have it Flip Turn out into something else. If you're lucky, you might be able to get off a Wish before it dies. It's like Alomomola but bad instead of good.
When it inevitably dies, it can at least serve as a boost for Kingambit.
Luvdisc, Glowking, Tornadus, and Treads focus on pivoting, while Kingambit cleans up, and Kyurem serves as immediate power.
I managed to reach 1116 Elo with a 5-2 win ratio before I lost patience with this team. It sucks even in the low ladder, but my goal was to at least go above 1082 and I managed that.

Ohhh. It is fun! So far I have only lost because I have no idea what gen 9 is about.
But it's not the worst team ever.
>>
>>58351454
>>58354811
Hot.
>>
>>58351454
If you're even thinking of possibly using those then you clearly don't care about winning anyways
So just use whatever at that point and post showdown replays if someone above 1200 elo manages to lose to a luvdisc team of all things (bonus points if they don't concede until you've already knocked out at least half of their team)

Petpet used Flip Turn!
(The opposing Lucario lost 7% of its health!)

The opposing Lucario fainted!
IaraLuv has 120 seconds left.

Petpet went back to IaraLuv!
Go! Claymaker (Tornadus-Therian)!
niczinsam: How this is so fast

I live for moments like this. This is much more fun than winning.

Someone please give me a VGC Shaymin (either forme) team. I’ve tried two “pro” made teams and they’re both ass, although the second is much better. Even the few times I’ve run into the better team on the ladder, my only reaction is “yay, a free win.”
Teams I’ve tried:

I managed to score a KO with Luvdisc once.
97 speed doesn't look so bad when every other stat is irredeemably awful.
>>
>>58351454
Good fucking lord, man. Surely even you’ve realized Unown is not going to win you anything.
>>
>>58351454
I... suppose Luvdisc can work as some niche supporter? Doubles or Singles? Using Entertainment to give some slow but strong threat Swift Swim sounds hilarious, albeit bit janky. There's also Charm, Wish, Safeguard, Flip Turn, lol Endeavour-Flail if you hate yourself...

I suppose you can also use Rest with Hydration and Substitute for some memey rain stall. Again, it will not do a lot but it's a thing.
