One of /vp/'s rules is "Do not incite genwars." (Rule 4.) Genwar threads that went out of control were simply deleted-and that's a fact you can see on the archives.2) The state of the fandom was better. People on /vp/ were significantly more interested and enthused by new releases back then, even if it didn't live up to expectations. This only really changed with Sword and Shield, as this was and continues to be a controversial gen.3) Speaking of Sword and Shield, the PANDEMIC happened around the same time. The collective social IQ of the west was dropped severely due to the inability to make proper face to face communication and were unable to break from our monotonous patterns, which stunted our mental health. We still have not recovered from this.
