Would you like to see another attempt at a dating mechanic?
i would like to see their first serious attempt, yes
>>58364233Absolutely. I wanted to fuck in rivals in SV so bad, fuuuck, stop fucking teasing me man just give me something
>>58364233Hopefully not as tedious as the one in bw2
>>58364233no, they spend too much time on the human characters anyway. Nobody gives a fuck about how good Pokemons writing is.
>>58364233Genuinely a goldmine of potential, not sure why they haven't done it yet. >explore a haunted house with the Ghost-Type fanatic and hold her hand as you two are chased by Shuppets, or challenge the Water-Type surfer to the Mantine minigame from gen 9>eventually confess by trading a Luvdisc with them. ideally this would also trigger a new evolution for Luvdisc>get a unique gift depending on your chosen. for example, the Dragon-Type trainer teaches you her ancestors call to summon Latios or LatiasOnly issue is the censors probably wouldn't allow anything less than 100% squeaky clean, so no characters significantly older or younger than you, or power gaps like students and teachers.
I don't think I've ever engaged with this mechanic but I also wouldn't be against them potentially revisiting it again at some point down the line.
>>58364233Nah, gen 5's flop proves all that gen's ideas are non viable. Dating mechanics went the same way as gems and triple battles for good reason. If only the Unova Pokedex got the same treatment.
>>58364233A relationship mechanic would be fine. Hang out with characters, increase bond. They kinda did something like that in Scarlet where you could become friends with teachers but it was half-assed. Quarter-assed even. They should avoid it being explicitly dating/romantic because that encourages freak behavior.
>>58364233>go step on 50 specific tiles all through the overworldWhy'd they do it like this?
>>58365387This, that's why post-games and effort are also proven recipes for failure
>>58364233>>58365379They made it too hidden>step on this one exact pixel out of the entire map to trigger the interactionLol fuck that
>>58364233No. The schizos are bad enough without the games themselves enabling them.
>>58365801Romantic relationships and shipping between the player and game characters is one of the faggiest thing you can do in a gameI hard dropped Fire Emblem when they started that shit
>>58364233personally I wouldn't mind but you just KNOW that this board would get infinitely worse for it
>>58365387On the contrary, they eventually turned it into Pokemon Master Sex and made fuckloads of money off of it.
>>58365324SV is beloved solely because of its writing. You are wrong.
I read that as "dating a mechanic" for a second and got really excited, only to re-read it and lose my enthusiasm. It's not a game mechanic, it's a sidequest. You might aswell call the basic summary of the story a mechanic
>>58364233My beloved
>>58364233With the current designs no.Maybe if we get some good aesthetic sensibilities it could work.
>>58365838It's kinda sad that the best game they ever put for raising characters has the sins of being a dating simulator and a wyvern simulator at the same time. How to tame your wyvern and date your teacher 3 houses edition.
>>58365838>shipping between the player and game charactersThe player is supposed to be (You), genius. It's an RPG.
>>58365838Shipping between the player and the game characters is fucking awesome. Everyone should lust for my cock.
