How many of you actually unlocked Surfing pikachu. He basically symbolized mastery over gen 1.Also how hard is unlocking surfing pikachu compared to the battle frontier or something
>>58371731how did you unlock him?
>>58371731I got surfing pikachu in stadium (and got to play the surfing game in yellow) but failed my diamond battle tower at 96 out of 100 fights. Battle tower is harder
>>58371731Yeah, I got it as a kid. You can bring Mewtwo, so it's not hard. Except for the fucking Mew that spams Softboiled at the end. I still remember that fucking thing to this day.
>>58371747>you can use mewtwokinda takes the challenge out of it. How difficult is it without him?>>58371745I always thought battle frontier was considered the hardest postgame, color me surprised
>>58371731Congrats.>how hard is unlocking surfing pikachu compared to the battle frontierEasier because you can bring your overpowered in-game team (including Mewtwo) and use continues. The opponents aren't necessarily that strong either, even in R2. The hard part is having the setup to attempt it.
>>58371754Hardest postgame is gen 4 Factory open level, nothing else remotely compares.
>>58371731You can cheese the entire Stadium game regardless of difficulty by using powerful Mon like Mewtwo or Alakazam with the 3 elemental punches traded back from Stadium 2. The former for Prime Cup/Gym Leader Castle and the latter for everything else besides Petit Cup which you can just use an Abra for.Alakazam with the three punches genuinely tears the game apart because the CPU will try to switch to a different Mon only for another punch yo cover the new Mons weakness half the time. Bring a few Pokemon to cover the types Alakazam doesn't already and you're basically guaranteed to power your way through to a Surfing Pikachu. On the other hand, input reading and guaranteed RNG bullshit opponents in the battle facilities cheat harder than Mewtwo and Alakazam ever could.
>>58371731Never owned Stadium. Is it worth playing. How hard is it with just rentals?
You can just use gameshark to give a Pikachu surf in 1 second and play the surfing pikachu game which is what I did when I was like 7 or whatever
>>58371796>How hard is it with just rentals?Impossible
>>58371802Like actually impossible or just brutally difficult?
>>58371798>just cheat bro!im not a jew or a nigger, so i can't relate
>>58371806Like it's technically possible but really hard unless you look up a guide for exactly which specific rentals to use for every single battle which is boring and even then you can still lose because it's so fucked up and unfair
>>58371808Yes you are
>>58371798Yeah I never owned Stadium 1 so I just did this. Gen 2 using the surfing Pikachu sprite was cool too.
>>58371806"Brutally" doesn't begin to describe it, but it's technically possible. It just requires a LOT of rng in your favor. But the worst cup to beat rental-only is the Pika cup. The rules are Pokemon level 15-20 (but there's a cost system, so you have to spread out the levels), but all the rentals are level 15. So you have to deal with this shit with a team of level 15 rental Pokemon with awful movesets. It basically boils down to guessing which Pokemon the opponent brings and hoping your counters don't get fucked if you're right.
>>58371731Now that's a good milestone
>>58372928Man that is a bullshit team. The only way to get a level 15 Kangaskhan in Gen 1 is to trade a level 15 Golduck for Rhydon in Yellow and then trade Rhydon over to the Japanese Pokemon Blue and then trade that for Kangaskhan. Also how the fuck did he get a level 15 Golem? You can catch Kadabra in Yellow but only at level 20. Did he trade one over from GSC and then trade that for Graveler in JP Blue? Because that is turbo bullshit.
Stadium was cool because you got a continue if you completed a battle without losing any Pokemon. Other games should have adopted that.
I've been playing the PWT lately, the world leaders tournament is starting to get bullshit.
>>58371731Fucking noob ass bitch. Know your place.
>>58375285Did you use your story team or one EV-trained for it?
>>58375340My storymons, but pkhex'd the Ivs and Evs. Guess i just need to git gud.
>>58371731This isn't that difficult to do, Prime Cup is easier than the level 50 cup, and it lets you use Mewtwo and Mew.The hardest challenges in the Stadium games are Stadium 2's Round 2 Challenge Cup and Stadium 2's Round 2 Poke Cup.
>>58371731Also true mastery only comes from in depth execution of the Q glitch along with the 8f Glitch. Also your pikachu better be shiny when in gen 2. And the ability to anti meta ou without getting completely rekt
