It was 3 years ago and at that time there were 118 recolors (I don't remember seeing a new one since then, because I already counted Chamblemon and Cthyllamon), a third of them (36) being from the first Digimon World, due to 3D constraints (Pokemon was just front and back sprites that only move with translation of the whole body, Digimon had their special and normal attacks, they had to walk, run, defend themselves, eat, sleep, poop, push the rock for HP, nodding the head for intelligence, showing different levels of joy, sadness, anger etc and it was the beginning of 3D). I also counted things like Fugamon and Hyougamon, despite their silhouette being recognizable by the number of horns. Some were there for story purposes (Blackwargreymon in 02) and some are so underused you forgot they existed (Shoutmon Blue is an unreleased recolor who just appeared in one vpet), so when people complain about recolors, it's unlikely to be about them
