I'm honestly dreading the megas in the DLC. Not because they're guaranteed to be bad necessarily - I think the PLZA megas have been a mixed bag, some good some bad - but because it'll mean more mons that deserve a PROPER evolution simply not getting one... anyone else?
I can’t get behind the idea that every Mega Evolution for a pokemon without three stages is robbing them of a regular evolution. Some Pokemon should just be the end of their lines and not be relegated to the middle stage you never use. Of course some Pokemon should get regular evolutions, but some make more sense to me as final evolutions with megas. Like I don’t think a regular Hawlucha evolution would look good, but a mega makes total sense to me. I don’t think there’s anywhere for a third stage to Malamar to go, but a mega makes sense. They design mega evolutions differently to how they would design a new evolution stage that has to be its own Pokemon. Sometimes they choose wrong imo but I generally agree with who they’ve chosen to end early as mega evolutions and who gets new evolutions.
