given some of sv's mon designs and both mega raichus i already knew this
>>

you will still buy it
>>
>>58396493
if gamefreak is developing this its so fucking over
>>
>>58396493
I can already tell how garbage this will be with GF as developer
>>

PRESS S
>>
>>58396493
a procgen region would unironically be better than SV's world kek
>>
It's going to end up like how No Man's Sky was at launch.
>>
Generative levels are nothing new for gaming and it's not like pokemon ever had particularly good level design
>>
>>58396493
Palworld really fucked them, huh?
>>
>>58396493
procedural generation is a good idea in the hands of competent devs, look at chalices in Bloodborne for example. It can be a nice way to add longevity to the game
now in the hands of gamefreak, I doubt it
>>
>it's ok when PMD does it.
>>
>>58396493
They've used speedtree in development since forever anon
>>
Actually seems cool. Sounds like it could be something like mirage spots from ORAS but with more variety. Idk why you're acting as if procedural generation is the same as ai slop.
>>
>>58396493
a procgen region would unironically be better than DPPt's world kek
>>
>>58396493
Is OP retarded? Procedural generation in games has been around for years, take minecraft as an example
>>
>>58396493
....didn't they already do that with the Mystery Dungeon series? Hell, the whole gimmick is that no two dungeons were the same.
>>
>>58396493
AI GENERATED REGION LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>
>>58396529
You really think Gamefreak is even capable of making something like launch NMS? Do you live in an alternate universe?
>>
>>58396493
I cannot wait for this. This is probably gonna be hilarious. Yeah the idea is good but this is gamefreak.
>>
>>58396493
There's proc-gen romhacks that are fine, but GF is somehow less competent than the average romhack kiddie so I expect the worst.
>>
>No Mon's Sky
>>
I don't think these ESL zoomers know what "procedurally generated" means in games, even if they play the shit out of Minecraft.
>>
And yet, they couldn't procedurally generate interiors to the buildings for Z-A so that the world felt more fleshed out.

Seriously, at least give us locked doors or something.
>>
>>58396545
>>58396571
AI is kino. Cry harder.
>>
>>58396493
Let's hope, it would be a leap in quality compared to the usual work of the GF mummies
>>
I assume the main islands will be purposefully designed, and procgen islands will just fill out the areas between and beyond those story islands.

Like having dozens of mirage islands. Just sailing around and finding a new island with some rare berries and a species you've never seen before
>>
>>58396493
like mystery dungeon?
>>
>>58396798
This is probably what it'll be, which is fine by me. Anything more, like proc genning everything, is going to be guaranteed ass. I'm honestly more intrigued by the supposed seed Pokemon with infinite evolution outcomes...going to assume there will be only one per copy though.
>>
>>58396493
Gen 3 was the last good gen, once they changed the artstyle it was a mark of death. Pokemon died with Ash.
It's time to admit it's over.
>>
>>58396493

Why does GF keep getting more and more and MORE AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE... Fucking lazy?
>>
>>58396535
I unironically hope nintendo patents procedural generation so we can put an end to the roguelike cancer and indies stop relying on the algorhythm to design the game for them.
>>
>>58396493
Is this a call back to how red and green were originally supposed to work?
>>
>>58397268
sounds like it
>>
>>58396534
not even close, slopworld killed itself
>>
>>58397268
This is Tajiris true vision
>>
>>58396989
Wtf are you talking about? Good procedural generation is a genuinely ambitious thing to tackle implementing.
Well, GF will definitely fuck it up if they do go for it, but it's still notable that they had it in consideration

I want it to be known that I predicted this
>>
>>58396493
Minecraft is the most popular videogame of all time.
>>
People hate this? AI can unironically make better islands than a human ever could. Gamefreak or not.
>>
Lol there's nothing wrong with that in principle but we know every time they pull something ambitious like that it ends up being incredibly amateurish and underwhelming
At this point even making a traditional pokemon game that's actually solid would be a stretch of their abilities, too bad they can't admit it
>>
it’s gonna be funny comparing this game to sea of thieves, AC4, and from soft’s apparent pirate game they’re making.
>>
>>58397392
Oh hey, you were replying to me! Fancy meeting you here! :P
>>
>>58396493
But PROCEDURALLY GENERATED is perfect for pokemon, you don't need good designed areas, just some grass with random encounters
>>
>>58396493
If they keep generating new locations they can't make more money from the next gen. It'll have to be extremely basic or not have gyms
>>
>>58396493
won't this just be a little bit upgraded version of ultra ride?

If true the procedural aspects would prob be handled as well as Eldenring: Nightrein if you catch my drift
>>
>>58396493
I mean, it can't be any worse than what GF makes by hand.
>>
>>58396493
I genuinely believe after Gen 5 there started being an internal goal to make the games as shitty as possible just to see how far they can push it

truly a fate worse than death

Everything will be.
You do not understand, Corpus want only one thing. MAXIMUM PROFITS.
AI means less people they need to pay to make games.

So they will, no matter how jank it is.

Does it hurt to be this stupid?

Sort of personal story here for background but the company I work for a little while back was sold to an individual who was in the process of building a larger conglomerate of other similar businesses under one banner. The former owner wanted to retire and he didn't trust his dipshit sons with the business and honestly from what I've heard I don't blame him one bit. The new owner appoints a new manager who is basically a soulless demon who may have lied on his resume, and has a very "minmax" approach to business where the former owner was more of a family man. This new manager, while he'll never say it, he believes that employee satisfaction is completely irrelevant until it starts to*significantly* impact efficiency moreso than the pennies he saves by doing so.

Your theory on Gamefreak might be a little hyperbolic but it still reminds me of how the new big boss operates. Push the limit as far as you can without actually crossing the line, and keep pushing to test where the line is, whether that's with employees, terms of contracts, etc.

People aren't robots and they'll only put up with it for so long.

>People aren't robots and they'll only put up with it for so long.
So you say but we've been over a decade into this pit and there's zero signs of things stopping or seeing any reasonable or genuine pushback and if anything people just keep slurping and consooming.
Like, for example, even to this day there's people still defending nu-Disney and Star Wars.
Unless some crazy miracle happens, things won't change during our lifetimes, if even past our lifetimes.
As a wise man said: You'll buy it anyway.
It's why voting with your wallet is a meme. You won't buy it? Cool. There's dozens if not hundreds who will in your instead.
Pokemon is the biggest franchise in the whole wide world. Nintendo is basically one of the core pillars of Japan. They're practically indestructible. They're entrenched too deep. They have too much money.
People aren't robots. True. But it's even worse. They're retarded. Robots at least are pure logic. Robots wouldn't buy it anyway.
