So with all these disasters happening recently, is there anyone that STILL believes Game Freak just "le needs more time"? Surely everyone has finally accepted that Game Freak is just horribly incompetent from the top down, right?
No.
>>58396937What disasters? ZA is amazingly fun.
It's his fault the studio is this incompetent
>>58396937Just go play pal world bro, this franchise isn't clearly something you enjoy
>>58397030IM HAVING A BLAST
>>58396937Pokemon doesn't have a time problem, it doesn't even really have a studio problem per se, what it has more than anything is an audience problem. Pokemon fans don't just have low standards, they actively fight against higher ones. The shittier the games are, the more they buy them. There isn't a studio on the planet that wouldn't give up and start churning out garbage on autopilot with an audience like this. Humans respond to incentives. You could give Game Freak 100 years to make these games and the results wouldn't change unless the incentives changed first.
>>58396937I truly believe that Game Freak could benefit from the Activision CoD strategy of having rotating studios, with some tweaks. Teams A, B, and C, all working on multiple mainline games. Maybe A and B rotating on mainline Generations, with C working on spin offs and legends. Basically double the development time of main Gens, with the ability to pull from Team C for crunch support.
>>58397176Anon that's literally what they do
>>58397184Then they are doomed.
>>58396937Don't worry, people will still fall back to the narrative that poor GF is just being bullied by TPC like TPC is anything other than a board room meeting between Nintendo, GF and Creatures on how to handle merchandise and advertising.
>>58397237If anyone's cracking the whip to make Game Freak churn shit out as fast as possible, it'd be Nintendo, since these games are system-sellers. But of course, certain people can't admit that without their "team" losing face in the console wars on /v/, so TPC has to be the scapegoat instead. But again, Pokemon's audience is just so uniquely terrible that I don't even think Game Freak needs to be pressured by anyone into rushing out cheap shit. They are naturally responding to the incentives their fanbase gives them.
It was Iwata's presence that kept them going since they didn't want to disappoint him
