I don't think the (real world) region really has any bearing on what the starters are - but given the games are (allegedly) about exploring the procedural generated world I'd imagine our starters will be able to either fly/swim

Exotic animals for sure like Fruit Bat, Tree-Kangaroo a very unique animal, some beautiful exotic bird, Elephant, Rhino, some weird lizard, even Platypus because Australia is in South. They love bovines though.

Honestly they should return to undefined monsters like Bulbasaur and Chiikorita (in b4 they are actually based on dinosaurs or whatever). So tired of elemental animals that evolve into fursuits. We are to the point where they’re repeating animals already.
