We could have had good Pokemon games fuck!
>>58411358Bamco is Bandai right?
>>58411398yes
>>58411358>A narrative created by EOP based solely on the words “Game Freak,” “Nintendo,” and “Square Enix”.It's merely an opinion expressed by someone at GF in response to companies like Square Enix withdrawing from outsourcing-based projects.
>>58411358Outsourcing is bad retard, this way they can keep the games consistent
>>58411491Many major games outsource work including acclaimed ones, literally nothing wrong with it as long as there’s a competent leadership in place and quality control for the work done
>>58411491consistently mediocre
>>58411358Based Game Freak keeping stuff in house instead of endlessly using up 3rd parties resources like Nintendo do
I wish Japs learned to listen to opinions and obeyed the higher up. I wish GF had just outsourced... but then I remember they tried to do that with ILCA and ... meh ...
>>58411358Licensed IP Bamco games usually look like dogshit
>>58411358why do people just straight up lie on Twitter, that's not what that says at all, I can read Japanese
>>58411537Show me one that looks even half this bad
>>58411491Yeah, consistently shit
>no team asano pokemon title>no fire emblem x pokemon>no pokemon game written by Takeshi.
>>58411512>literally nothing wrong with itreduces diversity in the market since they'd be getting a 3rd party to work on their IP instead of their own game. Bamco probably wouldn't have made the new Digimon game if Game Freak asked them to make Legends Z-A for them, for example
There is a good pokemon game, its called palworld.
>>58411551What does it say
>>58411358Obviously a move to protect the old guard. They're all useless coders.
I'm sure Nintendo and Gamefreak would never allow it, but if Bamco were to have worked on a Pokemon game...one step closer to a Pokemon/Digimon crossover.
>>58411649That's what I was thinking too...
>>58411358>"Outsource to improve quality?">"Nah, they'll buy the games anyway. We got them hooked long ago. Let's demote Masuda though!"
Could Nintendo just buy Game Freak out and dissolve TPC?
>>58411537Because this looks worse than Pokémon.
>>58411491Except they're already consistently bad. Why not roll the dice and see if they improve?
>>58411358It was smart on them, though, that would be the beginning of Nintendo forcing the games out of Game Freak hands. Not saying that wouldn't be better for us, but it's pretty clear why they refused.
>>58411955>Animations are 5-second loops>NPCs are nailed to the floor>A city seen in the background is literally a pngYeah, kys digotranny
>>58411649Even if all the corpos were on board with it, I don't see how it would ever get off the ground conceptually. Both franchises are polar opposites in mechanics, tone, and target audience. It would be impossible to prevent at least one side from feeling shortchanged.
>>58411902>could nintendo just saddle themselves with needing to pump out a game a year to continue their highly lucrative and highly popular franchise they already profit most full from without having to do any extra work to do so?Aside from the blatantly obvious "why buy a dog and bark yourself?" angle, they probably could, but would then hire the staff wholesale, clositer them off in their own wing and have them shit out games for them, only with the drawback of having to then fund those new hires' taxes, social contributions and holiday pay. And given the proposed scenario, the GF staff would likely hold Nintendo by the balls and demand the same remuneration package they were earning off Game Freak (no mandated weekends, flexible shift work, working from home, which they were offering BEFORE covid forced everyone's hand, 4 weeks paid holidays, all public holidays off paid) or they'd say "fuck it, we out" leading Nintendo to likely shit the bed as they suddenly have NO staff from the old regime, need to hire a fuckload new staff to run Pokémon AND risk the property's worth in entirety, because if it's not on-the-nose Game Freak style, the world will reject it. Be easier to just keep paying Game Freak to make it (every release was funded by Nintendo, meaning if there's 20 non-spin-offs in 3 years, it's because Nintendo wanted the game sales to bump the system sales).
>>58411902There isn't enough money in the world to buy GF out at this point. And that's without factoring in how cheap Nintendo is.
>>58411491consistently mediocre at best is not good retard.
>>58411491Outsourcing IS bad... if you're a game with releases that are very spaced out. If Pokemon is releasing games yearly which it was for a long time and has still only rarely missed a year then outsourcing gives you more time to work on a project while still getting a game out and it gives another studio experience with the property which can lead to further collaborations for even better things.Outsourcing a new 3D Mario or Zelda would be retarded. Outsourcing a yearly release so GF gets an entire extra year of dev time is practically fucking necessary
