If this really is the last batch (for a good while, at the very least), then I'd be more than okay with things that don't need mega evolutions not getting one, even if it means that some of my favorite mons that don't already have anything miss out on them, too. Yes, a lot of mons deserve Megas for extra power but with each new mega they make, there is more and more competition for the mega slot, and for Champiions I would even say whole gimmick slot. Chimecho is already pretty terrible and I am afraid that it will get the Mega Malamar treatment (unless it has a good ability). Design-wise I am also scared. Drampa was a very random choice but it managed to get one of the best looking new megas, which might not be the case with Chimecho.
