There are just so many bugs it's unreal: no shadows, horrible textures, cant enter buildings, runs at 2 FPS, falling through the floor, flickering textures... That's why I linked these videos.
My childhood nostalgia would say they suck though, and I agree with that. That said, it wasn't the worst Pokemon experience I had, but it could have been much better.

Breeding for a max size full iv Pokémon was tedious, but seemed easier than in past games, but then I did it in past games and it seemed better, waiting for eggs during a picnick sucks, riding a bike back and forth and having eggs hatch while you pick more up at the daycare just feels better. I suppose when Champions comes out I’ll use these games to get some pokemons stats to where I want before I transfer them, so I don’t have to spend victory points, but I’ve been trying to make a competitive team without hacking, and I just never finished because it’s too tedious.

All I will say is, I feel extremely lucky having only experienced one bug that reset itself over my 130+ hours of play.As far as enjoying Pokemon, it’s the first time since Gen 6 that I was excited about mainline title and that was definitely coming off the momentum of Arceus. I felt that the Pokedex was very manageable and well-incentivized, though the evolution methods of some of the newer mons not-being telegraphed was annoying. I think they could have done more with adapting trainer battles to the open world (making a number threshold a prerequisite for gyms would have been a better incentive than the TMs), and I enjoyed the story a bit more and felt the writing was more subtle than previous generations.I do think that half the DLC being hot garbage was unfortunate, but I’d rather enjoy the base game and be lukewarm about the additional purchase than the other way around. I think “love it or hate it” ultimatums are silly, I’d rather say I thought it had some ideas I hope they improve upon but knowing the developer, they take one step forward, three steps back, and one step to the side.
