With gen 10 set in Indonesia/south east Asia this is my prediction for what the starters will be

Grass: Elephant
Elephants are culturally significant throughout all of south east Asia and modern Pokémon needs at least 1 bipedal final stage which shouldn't be

Fire: Bat
Indonesia has the most bats on earth and we haven't had a bird or wing based Pokémon since gen 3

Water: Platypus
In recent generations we typically get 1 or 2 starters which make sense for the region inspiration and the other starter(s) having little inspiration
Gamefreak loves appealing to the reddit crowd so a platypus starter could happen in any generation

SEA here, I would rather have water buffalo as... well, a water type starter. The animal are used throughout the region as a living tractor for paddy rice, and you know how crazy Asian are for that shit

How has nobody mentioned the Komodo Dragon?

if leaks are right, we're starting in a touristy resort island, which is most likely Bali let's be honest. Komodo National Park is just right there, a couple of islands east.

So instead of Fire Bat, how about we get a Fire Komodo dragon that becomes Fire/Dragon and gets a Poison STAB ability like Steelworker. Grass could be an elephant, and Water could be a Water Buffalo cuz we eat rice a lot here.
