Aside from having to bypass the fletchling crash early on, been running fine for me. I got one crash in the museum at one point, but then it didn't crash when I reloaded it. The only really annoying thing is the vertex explosions. Sometimes there will just be a giant wave of black blocking half the screen. Other times, if I'm lucky, there'll just be a giant blade of grass half-covering everything.

Would love a way to fix that, but it's been generally playable at least.

Has the update crash issue been fixed yet?

How's the emulation on this? Aside from the crashes or whatever. I have a hacked Switch as well but updating it and making space for the rom is such a pain in the ass, so I was thinking of getting the emulator set up. If performance is ass then I'll just use my Switch instead, just weighing my options. I figured performance may be better cause I remember playing Breath of The Wild on my PC instead and it literally had better loadtimes and less studdering, but I know Nintendo fucked emulators since then so imagine development may have come to a crawl?

alright here's my solution of passing fletching on ryubing. I put everything back to default settings.When I enter the cutscene, I minimize the window until the cutscene is over. If I can't see the bird,I can't crash.

There's a patch note out and all it does is enable online for the game on Switch and Switch 2.
So, you might not even need to add the update, but you can add the DLC. I'm not too sure what else it gives you, but I do know you can claim a set of Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits immediately.

Eden is working okay but has some glitches. When I switch back to Ryujinx, it has random crashes on Vulkan. On opengl, every character is shiny. Any ideas? I'll just keep using Eden for now but I would rather use Ryujinx.

Can you even complete the Mable requests without 100%ing the missions? Getting a trade evo is impossible at the moment unless there is a sidequest for it later. I kind of wanted to 100% it like I did with Arceus.

I stuck with Ryubing and have had no random crashes on Vulkan. There is some weird pop-in sometimes, and I had some structures turn into flashing textures that were fixed by just reloading the game. At this point you can't really get a perfect emulation and just have to pick what do you tolerate more.

Yeah, it's ass. It would be fine if we had abilities and the moves had meaningful effects like the regular games, but we don't. For instance, there was no reason why they couldn't make U-turn switch out your pokemon, but instead it just makes it blink out of existence for half a second. Non-damaging moves are worthless because the buffs and debuffs don't do anything, hazards are just a little circle on the floor you can walk around, and status effects basically don't do anything. Oh no, my pokemon is paralyzed, now I'm not gonna be able to avoid that big atta- oh nevermind it just makes my moves' cooldowns slightly longer. Citron was the only one that didn't crash or played the game after the fletching cutscenes. But ryubing doesn't have the graphic glitches citron has. Eden doesn't even boot the game for me. It crashes the entire emulator for some reason. Weird.

God damn the lack of voice acting in cutscenes only becomes more and more cringe with each new game. Cause they clearly want voice acting - the cutscenes don't even wait for you to continue textboxes with A anymore...they just autoplay with llipflaps and motions, but there's no fucking voices and weird ass sound effects. It feels like they just removed the vocal track from a cartoon or something. So bizarre. Why the fuck can't they just get voice acting? At least for the "cutscenes," they don't have to do every single fucking line. It's just sad at this point.

And remember, there's Eden and Citron and other Yuzu/Ryujinx forks out there you can try and tinker with. Over time most of these issues will be fixed. Excited about OpenHome because then I can breed my pokemon in B.Diamond and Sword and transfer them to Z-A.

Change CPU mode to host (fast) and turn OFF Macro HLE in graphics.

Granted I only got to the 7th gym but that was more life stuff, I still put like 200~ hours into it, breeding, going online, etc. WHY does everyone hate it? It was fun when it came out because it was the first gen in a long time where there was actual discovery and not a day -7 datamine or Japanese copies out for half a year. The online was good because the 3DS wasn't hacked and there was reason to play with other people. They even made breeding and EV training the least shit it's ever been with no strings attached. That ship sailed and the game does not really hold up well without that sense of community. I tried a second playthrough a few years ago when my Internet was out for a couple days, and I just couldn't get much further than the third gym.

Why is the draw distant better on Eden than Ryu? Near the start after you catch 4 more pokemon and head to the research lab at the door I can see the scaffolding at the corner of the street. But on Ryu I cant, even when I stand near the corner of that street before you get stopped by the call the scaffolding is popping in and out of view. Eden has all the graphical glitches and runs smoothly even when new actions happen. Meanwhile Ryu graphics are stable but has horrible draw distance and lags and freezes momentarily when Im assuming its compiling shaders for new things and actions.

The flickering stopped when I changed from handheld to docked mode, I didn't have that by default for some reason.
I also kept crashing when meeting the hotel manager but it fixed after clearing PPTC cache (clearing shader cache did not help)

Any way to stop having the game stutter like a cunt on ryubinng? Both the suggested canary and latest canary do this, it's as if it's not caching shaders correctly or at the very least not loading them back in right.
Example:I start the game, throw out a mon, game stutters on pokeball effect and doesn0t happen again. Close the game, open it back, it does it again

Sadly, this shit did not work.
Neither on Ryujinx 1.3.3. nor Ryubing Canary 1.3.161.

Wish it did cause Vulkan gets me near consistent 60fps while OpenGL feels slower and sometimes gets those vortex explosions that Eden gets.
My only problem with Vulkan is the lighting issue.

I know installing the update and DLC on Eden (or any Yuzu fork) works, as it doesn't crash the game.
The update does crash on Ryujinx, but you don't need it and can install just the DLC to at least get the Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits, which'll be available immediately.
From what I've read of the patch notes, the update is just an online enabler for Switch and Switch 2, so I'd say it's not necessary.

Do you even get anything for completing the dex? Those greedy fucks adding in trade evos again makes me not want to bother
