Considering the mega designs that we're getting currently are something of a mixed bag, I would take it as more of a blessing that flygon had once again dodged the megachunusgoofysilly beam.

My hope is that it gets chosen for a future new gimmick, an additional evolution or a stat boost of some kind (as a whole, not necessarily relating to a new form or gimmick, etc.) but I'm not getting my hopes up for any of that.

I don't really think it's fair to compare it to salamence or garchomp because it's not even a pseudo (it never really stood a chance to begin with; garchomp being introduced a gen later was just a really unfortunate coincidence) but I agree with the rest of this, otherwise.

This. Even if Garchomp was a different typing Flygon would be powercrept by excadrill and landorus next gen. Its just not a pokemon that's suppose to be seen as strong. It's more of a "good" mon decent for playthroughs.

I will say though, might have last longer if it was bug/ground
