Why do pokemon fans hate digimon so much? Is it because digimon has better games?
>>
Most western and japanese digimon fans also like pokemon. It's only the Latinx who only like digimon but not pokemon
>>

It's not hate so much as Digimon fans constantly trying to push it on pokemon fans when it has a completely different appeal.
Digimon is more like SMT I suppose in terms of what the monsters are and how they grow. Pokemon are usually portrayed as living beings that are biological animals that exist in what at least used to be a more grounded world, they're very different things.

simple, they played Pokemon when they were younger at a time where each new Pokemon game actually was an improvement over the other and though that would be the case forever and ultimately were chained down to accept mediocrity for ludicrous prices in a world where gamefreak couldn’t keep up.
now they’re gonna pay 100 dollars for a ps3-looking game, with fomo mechanics such as the kalos starter megastones and mega mewtso and diancie, because it has “fun gameplay”

>Is it because digimon has better games?
Back in the day, it was common knowledge that Digimon had the better anime, and Pokémon had the better games, but I suppose things got more balanced now.

so now they double down on their nostalgic memories and hate the “change” that any other franchise/game could bring when competition is what creates the most improvements
>>

Each new game is STILL an improvement on the last though. The issue is kids started playing other games and growing older and assuming Pokémon was ever supposed to do that, when really they just didn't play games BUT Pokémon when they were 7 to see how actually behind the industry Game Freak always were. and because it's tried, tested and proven to work, they keep at it and keep succeeding while kids who really should just have grown up double down and continue acting like children, in the vain hopes of re-attracting Game Freak's attention.

Wait really? Mega Mewtwo and Mega Diancie are like how they handled Shaymin and Darkrai?
>>
Most people have just a vague nostalgic like for Digimon. Novody hates it because nobody thinks about it.
>>
>>58426397
It’s not Digimon in general, it’s any other monster-taming game, remember people support Nintendo suing Palworld over similar mechanics of all things, not even design.
>>
There's always been overlap between kids who liked Pokemon and Digimon.
But the average person think Digimon is weird because your cat can turn into a bimbo supermodel.

I'm not a brand loyalist and play both.
>>

it’s mystery gift yes, but we don’t know if it’s permanent or not since people hacked in the items to activate the encounters, which still fucking sucks as a concept.

Lol

Another bait thread from that one schizo anon. I wish he would just get banned permanently
>>
>>58426512
i feel like that comes from pokemon being the most popular monster-taming game, creating a kind of assumption that every similar game has to follow their design rules when even stuff like SMT or even Yokai-Watch had humanoids all the time.
>>
I would have SEX with Kari (from season 1)!

Latin American here, I'd compare it to how the Mario vs. Sonic fanbase rivalry was back in the day.

My perception is that some Pokémon fans feel that Digimon is (to put in modern terms) like "Pokémon, but from Temu/Wish"; made to capitalize on Pokémon's success.
Although this sentiment isn't as common now as it used to be in the early 2000's.
>>
Did you have to make this thread here too because nobody took the bait on /v/?
>>
>>58426397
A lot of us grew up as fans of both, and personally I always liked Digimon better from day one. Most of the annoyance just cones from people trying to spam non-Pokemon threads on the Pokemon board.

Not me. I'm English and a Digichad
