the legends game honestly mog the absolute fuck out of mainline pokemon
>>58434392absolutely not. you just hated the gameplay loop.
>>58434402pokemon should never ever go back to the old catching mechanics
>>58434408the legends catching mechanic is unrealistic, though. but if that's what you think is good, then fine
>>58434435you know what else is unrealistic. a charmander
>>58434443at least there is some degree of realism with a fire lizard in a fantasy world.what about throwing balls to lv50 pokemon at full health at immediately succeeding? kek
>poison enemy alpha>withdraw my pokemon>dodge easiest "dark souls for literal toddlers" attack patterns known to man until the poison kills it for me >throw pokeball because even the difficulty of managing the damage you deal to avoid knocking out potential captures was too much
>>58434435>the legends catching mechanic is unrealisticWhen I play the mainline games I usually just catch everything by throwing Quick Balls right away so the experience isn't that different for me
>>58434392Sales counts?
>>58434392Mainline pokemon games used to be good, meanwhile both legends games are complete dogshit so not really
>>58434457Just because that thing works and I have done it in the past doesn't mean it's a good thingThis is why people laugh at the difficulty in nu mon games
>>58434402>gameplay loopYou mean just "gameplay", zoomer.
>>58434468Aren't you a zoomer for preferring legends yourself, "boomer"?Also why would you prefer legends gameplay over the mainline, there is not much difference, it's the gameplay loop that's different
>>58434471the pokemon actually exist in an ecosystem and have unique behavior. in mainline pokemon they're just not nearly as alive and exploring to find new pokemon feels like a chore rather than an adventure
>>58434471I never said anything about which I prefer. I'm not any of the anons you already talked to. That was my first post in the thread.
>>58434486S/V is more alive than PLA, sorry>>58434496OK thanks for the self-ID "not-zoomer"
>>58434559Pokemon in SV spawn in and out randomly and have almost no interaction with each other or the environment. PLA mons interact with each other and the environment and having fixed spawn points helps in immersion since you don't see them physically spawn in in front of you like SV
>LA gameplay is just main series with less options and a catch mechanic that doesn’t increase or decrease depending on your position >ZA is baby’s first real time battle but worse because you don’t actually control the character fighting and 90% of the battle is waiting for a move to cool down turning it into a slower version of the standard turn based battle
>>58434573ZA is just the main series loop without the routes, and LA is just the main series loop without the gyms.
>>58434392>shitty empty tech demo fields and "HEY ANON, WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" in a post-SV world>"mogging the absolute fuck out of mainline pokemon"
>>58434569https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXDRCEE5Qjs
>>58434392SV is better than L:Z-A
>>58434958>When every mainline Pokemon game still takes a decade to start one random encounterYeah. You're also saying that like SV isn't restrictive as fuck either.
It's honestly really weird to group these two games together, Arceus and Z-A feel like polar opposites.
>>58434573I really hate that it's just a cool down fest, and you are essentially encouraged to use whatever is ready even if it's not effective, since there's essentially no reason not to fire off even inappropriate attacks when nothing else is cooled down.
>>58434392pla was so shit and za looks even worse lol
>>58434392Only if you're autistic and a furry
>>58434392Fuck no I actually miss Scat and Vomit after playing this piece of shit
>>58435994Why, that game is uglier, runs like shit and the map is completely empty
>>58434454Random mechanics are highly underrated
>>58434392yeah, its almost like catching mons rapid fire without having to enter a slow tedious outdated turn based battle each time makes it better or something. Also the level of freedom the Legends games provide but mainline to shame. SV is kinda close but it still is pretty linear. Mainline should take the Legends catching mechanics for future gens.
>>58435736Name all the times the game goes "HEY ANON, WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" in the Open World Environment of Paldea at large after you get out of school and are given directions to go either west or east towards Katy or Klawf.
The catch and battle systems are huge improvements in both games, I'm surprised that people stand by SV and turn based Pokemon.
>>58437594Pokemon fans hate change.
>>58437594Turn-based is fine but they really should have been trying to make the games have more dynamic catching for a while. It's a shame their only attempt before PLA was Masuda aping GO mechanics
>>58434392I really like the real time combat change in ZA, if Champions can be developed out to fill the void for players looking for turn based PvP & PvE (remains to be seen if there will be a PvE element) I would not mind seeing the real time combat in more games outside of just Legends itself. I kinda hate how ZA toned down the throwing mechanics compared to PLA. I think the act of aiming and physically throwing pokeballs should remain a core mechanic going forward, but I really miss the being able to bink really distant ball tosses and the skill curve of learning how to do it, and how the different ball types influenced the physics of the ball itself. If anything I want them to go full autismo on it, I want shit like the weather and the direction the wind is blowing to influence how the ball travels in the air. I think genuinely the closer the games can go to full immersive pokemon trainer simulator the better.
>>58434392True, and according to the leaks, they'll take inspiration from it for gen 10.
>>58434392Sex with Akari
