Making so many megas locked to scripted rogue encounters fucks the game up a lot. First it bottlenecks a lot of the encounters into happening one after the other, which feels like a waste since they are more intense than most of the content in the game. I genuinely think those fights have a lot of the most unique gimmicks and placement patterns to learn in the game, so feeling like you are 'getting them out of the way" feels wrong.
But it also means you won't get a lot of them until your team is at like level 40 and mostly decided.
Rogue Megas shouldn't be locked to main story outside of the initial one, they should be optional content and a reward for exploring, not too different from Dynamax encounters in the wild area of Sword and Shield.

I actually think little Timmy is going to be mad he can't use the cool Fire Dragon. This was also a massive problem with XY, which had less of an excuse to cap shit behind post-game since there was fuck all to do outside of Battle Tower crap and PVP
