Is just standing outside the gate to the zone and fast travelling back to it - not stepping inside or anything, that’s a valid reset and hunting method right? The stuff inside does seem to change, but it’s dragging on so long (I’ve ran in a few times and I’ve had 0 shinies on any mon) that I’m beginning to question it.I know the bench reset method but I thought just fast travelling without running into the zone worked too? Like the other anon's said, you have to de-spawn them (not knock them out.) for them to reroll, so fast travel, day night cycle, enter-exit a building, or move away enough for them to disappear. You can test these out by checking the Pokemon's gender and level to see if they changed. You really don't have control on the gender though sadly.Best method is to fast travel hands down. You gotta make sure the fast travel point is close enough to the spawn point of the Pokemon you want to hunt.

When I got the charm, I got the shiny metang in about an hour and got a shiny alpha male Houndoom along the way in the first few resets for Beldum/Metang.If you don't have the charm yet, dedicate a couple days in grinding it out, it's well worth it. Cafe Le nah provides you the quickest way of hitting 1k battles. After factoring in cut scenes/forced dialogue, it comes out to roughly just under 1 battle per minute.

Larvitar Update:I started using a counting app this morning, right now I'm on 664 encounters but I tried for three or four hours yesterday and it takes me about 20 seconds to check. If my math is correct I'm probably around 2000 encounters total. I found two Fletchlings and a Pansage so far. It's a bit demoralizing when I think about it, though I guess I'm still below 50% so I shouldn't complain.

Guys I’m trying to hunt a shiny Fennekin on that roof. I noticed that it “spawn” and “despawns” just as I enter/exits the zone entrance on the roof. For anyone playing on steam deck, it has built in turbo options. Click the STEAM button while playing, go to Controller settings, click controller settings button, then tap settings wheel on one of the back LR buttons (I picked R4). Add a command for gamepad B (which is where nintendos A button is) and a second command for Lstick down. For each of the 2 command’s settings, turn on turbo and scroll down to select toggle. You can now tap R4 once in front of a bench and it will keep spamming down+B. To end it, tap R4 when out of a cutscene.

For the Shiny Beldum hunt in Lysandre labs, I know that if you get 50 units away from the Beldums they refresh their spawn.Do I need to walk all the way back up to them to get them to respawn their new roll? Or can I dance right on the 50 unit distance to spam reroll and go get the shiny which persists?

Been hunting Heracross the majority of the day. Caught a shiny specimen of EVERYTHING else in WZ13 - 1 pinsir, 1 scyther, 2 weepinbells, 1 phantump, 1 Vivillon. Finally got Heracross last and it was an alpha species. Time to hyper train him! So glad I got my shiny Pokebro in this game
