If you'll forgive the autism I've been thinking a lot about the announcement of Pokemon Colosseum and its sequel on NSO. Why the hell would they rerelease these games if half the functionality is going to be unusable? The entire point of the game is just to get cool, rare (for gen 3) Pokemon to transfer to the "real" games, or to battle with your main Pokemon on TV in full 3D when that wasn't part of the main games. Now, you have:-No connectivity to the main games for battling-No unique functionality in battling in full 3D, all the main games let you do that already-Nowhere to send your purified Pokemon to-No Home support because sending Pokemon from these games would permanently remove them from the save file and you'd have to restart the whole game.-No reason to purify Pokemon even if they did add Home compatibility because they aren't rare anymoreYou're left with a mid at best RPG with bad old battle mechanics, and a main menu that half the options don't work. Why bother?
>>58483033To get those people who post the same handful of animations when crying over SwSh to buy NSO
This was a fair statement for Stadium 1 and 2 where the point was compatibility with the handheld games, but less so here. Colo and XD are stand alone RPGs.
because the games are fun and the music is good90% of the purpose of NSO is to get nostalgic 30-somethings to spend an extra $30 every year for games they could easily emulate anyway, I doubt little Timmy is going to convince his parents to buy him NSO so he can play an old Pokemon game
>>58483033The games are cool standalone and I'm glad they're getting exposure>>58483051HOWEVER I want to transfer my cool shadows (and shiny shadows if rng manip is feasible for color) into Home and not jump through hoops for it like I currently have to
>>58483033Props to Nintendo for doing something cool for once. But also, I find it as hilarious as it is retarded that the main titles are still not available on that shit service desu.
>>58483982It’s doubly stupid because they sold some of the old mainline games on 3DS, so it’s not like they can’t just do that againI think Gamefreak knows nobody would buy remakes like Let’s Go/BDSP if the originals were also for sale so they’re restricting them
>>58483051Stadium being battle simulators mean they outright give you all of the mons in the game to work with, just "balanced" in a way so there's hypothetically a possibility of using a preevo to beat final evolutions. It's missing the fun of crossover with Gen I+II but it suffices in what it doesThe Gamecube games being "real" RPGs means you're subject to what's only available in the game. You're genuinely missing more Pokemon in these games than you would be playing a Stadium (as in, you're missing Pokemon at all)
>>58483982They don't own dev rights to the core games retard-chan. they can't offer what they don't own. They own the gamecube games, they funded them for TPC for their home console, to try and upsell them during GBA era, thus they put the gamecube games up.>>58483995Yes dude, they SOLD the games. Regardless the revenue, Game Freak saw SOME money from them due to holding devrights. They don't see a penny of NSO revenue, Nintendo clearly don't share it, not even to second-party affiliates or rights-holders of classic games that appeared on their systems (I'd cut a bitch for them to put TRAX up on the game boy section, but it was made and published for HAL for Game Boy, so no dice) so Game Freak aren't putting their older shit up on the system. There's also the point they MUST sell them at 18's in some territories and would rather NOT sell them anywhere, than sell them in some places only (that's what remakes are for, remove the problematic content to present the same game, but in a better engine for the public).
>>58483033Asking this and not what the point of the Stadium games is
>>58485682>>58484001
>>58485699Reducing full games to>transfer to the "real" gamesUpgrading the platform where you could battle your mons from the "real" games to>full blown battle simulatoris peak arguing in bad faith
