Megas are intended to be super saiyan power ups for the pokemon they value the most, regionals are for pokemon they regret. want to replace, or just don’t give a shit about. No Pokémon has ever become stronger or more loved due to getting a regional while megas turns many forgotten shitters into icons.
I really think they breaking starters trio apart was a mistake.
