>decide to beat pokemon stadium with no cheats or glitches>require 6 lvl 100 Pokemon >each pokemon needs about 70 hours to reach lvl 100How the fuck did anyone do this shit without missingno
>>58483152There were no phones/social media back then.
>>58483190Everyone knew about missingno, it was talked about at every playgrounds
>>58483194I meant that putting 70 hours into something wasn't a superhuman task of focus and discipline.
>>58483199Oh that makes sense.
>>58483194I know its not the point other anon was making, but I still wonder how it spread like wildfire.I found out because a guide book I stole from a friend mentioned it, but it was an unofficial guide so I doubt it was in every household, so to speak.
>>58483210Rich kids with internet access probably distributed the knowledge on playgrounds
>>58483152using Rentals>t. someone who got Stadium as their first videogame
>>58483210I found out through an unofficial Nintendo magazine that would occasionally fly out people to Japan just to sniff out secrets like this.
>>58483210It was the most popular franchise on the planet earth. Everyone was talking about every aspect about it, all the time for years.I remember my friends actually phoned me up to tell me about the Missingno glitch on the weekend. They were very excited.Told me their big brother read it in Pokemon World.>>58483231>probablyIf you weren't around for it, why are you guessing?
>>58483231AOL was free with every box of cereal. How poor were your shitty parents?ftr I was 8 and found it on GameFAQs.
>>58483269>probablyMy older brother showed me after kids at school taught him. I just guessed it was the rich kids or something>>58483349Not everyone owned a home pc. That shit was rare in the 90s
>>58483360>Not everyone owned a home pc. That shit was rare in the 90sOkay apparently I memory-holed this what the F U C K>Bring these prices back and get all these welfare warriors off the internet plz
>>58483152They didn't
>>58483360I was very poor and grew up in a poor farm town, about half the kids I knew had a computer by the end of the 90's. That number grew to almost 100% in the 2000's.They were not that rare, people had already been using them for over 10 years in the 90's, so you could get dirt cheap ones which were perfect for home use.
>train up my Pokemon Yellow Pikachu to 100>he isn't able to take Stadium Mewtwo's psychic attack>train up new Yellow Pikachu to100>this one does>believe I have the strongest Pikachu in the world>best moment ever
>>58483152>require 6 lvl 100 Pokemonno you don't
>>58483793Prime cup has level 100 pokemon bro
How difficult is Pokémon stadium?
>>58484498Not at all unless you're doing a nuzlocke/ironmon of it, then its hard as fuck hell, and 2 is nearly impossible.
>>58483152Rentals, getting good, and also getting lucky.>>58483793All opponents in Prime Cup and the Mewtwo battle are level 100.>>58483390>Muppet Treasure IslandNow that's a fun game.>$35 newCheaper than the average modern Pokémon too.
>knew about the missingno glitch>only used it to dupe pp ups and vitamins>max vitamins all pokemon but level them up the regular way by autistically beating the elite 4 over and over>play stadium>my pokemon have way higher stats than my friends thanks to the old IV mechanics since they all quick leveled with rare candies and didn't use vitamins
>>58483152My brother and I had the Transfer Pak and knew about Missingno, but for some reason he always used rental Pokemon instead.Rentals are great. Jynx is a standout 'mon in most formats I'm pretty sure. Just be sure to avoid blindly picking fully evolved Pokemon; they usually have shit movesets. Kadabra is basically always better than Alakazam IIRC.
Stadium was hard
>>58486216I am also hard
>>58486216no the hard part was reaching level 100 and using all your proteins, carbos, calciums etc
>>58486250Which is why stadium has the most difficult post game outta every other gen
>>58487501no gen 4 factory is way harder even with manipyou can just copy the speedruns for stadium 1 and 2 rentals only
>>58487521>you can just copy the speedruns for stadium 1 and 2 rentals onlythat's retarded and pointless though. hmmm i think I'll play a game by watching a speedrun and copy everything they do when it's just battling. like wtf that's braindead as fuck. the only way I would do that is if someone had a gun pointed to my head and was gonna kill me if I couldn't beat pokemon stadium.
>>58487559both stadiums have a handful of rentals that stand out. it's not that hard to figure out what they are and what strategies to use.in factory you have to learn what, 900+ rental sets? it's way more complex and far more unpredictable, and there's no continues.
>>58483152The expectation was that you'd be playing the game pretty consistently for like a year or so to clear it, learning along the way. This is pretty much what I did with Emerald when I decided to beat the Battle Frontier without injecting or RNG manip, that took me roughly 40 months in total of my life of moderate playing on the weekend to complete.
>>58483199we had us
>>58483152You don't need any of that shit, I beat this with rental Pokemon on VC without looking at a guide or savestates.
>>58483152i just used a level 100 mewtwobtw stadium 2 is amazing as well, even better than stadium 1. they really extend the whole gsc experience
>>58489532>it's amazing>i just used a level 100 mewtwodo boomers really?
>>58489567only for the level 100 mode, theres tons of other modes and they dont require you to be level 100. im 24 btw
>>58489528holy based
>>58489532I know your mewtwo had psychic
penis
Bump
>>58483152use dodou/dodrio tower
>>58489243Day 1 ahh generation
>>58489532Mewtwo is only usable if you've already complete the game
>>58491656I’m pretty sure you have to beat the game to unlock that
