real talk. All E4 are forgettable aside from Lance. 99% of them only show up at the very end and that's it. They say a couple of lines when you meet them, then a couple after you beat them and then that's it. They serve zero purpose other than existing only to be an obstacle.

That's why I like the adventures manga. They actually use these characters in the story and they are more than just a cool design or as the kids would say "aura".

And when coming up with those teams, nobody noticed Ice, Ghost and Dragon have very limited selection and still went ahead.
And then double down on that in Emerald and especially the remakes where they DID include Sinnoh evos.

The only elite 4 that I really really like is Unova's.
Partly because Shauntal and my dear princess Caitlin are there.
