Every gen has a pokemon of every type, and the types that were added later had each previous gen have at least one pokemon altered to be that type... except for gen 1 and dark. What gen 1 pokemon should have been retroactively made dark?
grimer and rattata
meowth/persian
>>58487803Probably Gengar, It completely loses the gasous look of Haunter and Ghastly.
>>58487803Drowzee and Hypno, would help make them stand out among the other psychic types of gen 1. Arbok is a fine choice too, again it helpsbetter diversify it as a pokemon and makes sense from the design.

>>58487803Zubat and Golbat.Dark-type is the evil type in Japan, and the Zubat line are the standard-issue Rocket Grunt Pokemon.Plus, having them be Poison-type was a stretch to begin with.

>>58487927who are you to think about the thoughts i thought about what i think
>>58487803I think most dual types are fucking stupid. Gengar’s line was supposed to combat psychic type and then became weak to it. Retarded shit.
>>58487935>just megas/regionals that were darkzero thought
>>58487866This is actually a cool answer despite what the other anon says
>>58487803the only gen 1 pokemon that should've retroactively become dark type is mewtwo
>>58488039Well it didn't even counter psychic types in gen 1 since psychic was immune to ghost and super effective against ghost due to a bug.

>>58488039I thought that Gengar and Alakazam were supposed to be rivals. So being weak to each other's STABs made sense.I mean, it didn't, because there was a bug making Psychic immune to Ghost, and the only Ghost move that did type-based damage was Lick, and Ghost was a physical type while Gengar had higher special attack...But in theory, having a mono-Psychic mon and a Ghost/Poison mon be rivals made sense.
